Although there was no sign of Sandra Bullock, the Spring/Summer 2025 collection paid homage to the FBI agent in all of us. The new Sandy Liang girl is armed with an array of gadgets and gizmos, all tied up in a bedazzled tiara and sash fit for a princess.
This season, the clothes are made for wearability, where dress-up turns into a mission and everyday routines become top-secret. Garments are constructed for the day-to-night, whether that involves a hectic day at the office, or waiting for the subway. Silhouettes are inconspicuous, including skorts and uniforms that are camouflaged as dresses.
Colors are in iridescent silver, chic chartreuse, coastal cobalt, silky champagne, bubblegum pink, powder blue, a gorgeous grey, and candy apple red. The palette is splashed onto a cropped jacket, micro mini, or a staple white tee. Details are intricate and mysteriously placed, like transparent flowers imbued into a dress, a small zippered pocket sewn onto the interior of a skirt, or a ruffled Cabbage bag with gingham petals.
Jeans are casual, but rhinestones are embellished up the side, alongside slim suiting, perfect for a meeting with the big boss. Outerwear is spotted in jackets worn with modest capris. A mini trench is sleek but stylish, for a major spy serve. A pageant princess dress is dripped in glitter and draped with a silk sash, making for a sparkly fairytale runway moment.
Two-piece ensembles include a soft jersey top and tap shorts, paired with girly heels meant to strut your stuff in. Dreamy fabrications are done in huggable nylon’s and shining silks luminous enough to light up the collection.
Accessory offerings are her spy gadgets, equally aesthetic as they are utilitarian, while unveiling a collaboration with Android. Metal’s are velvety and glittering, and star charms add a childish touch. Footwear exists in the form of a spy shoe held together by a shiny ring, and the new court heel is cutesy, and very demure. A coin purse is turned into a necklace meant for useful stashing, whether it be a covert code or a lipstick laser in a frosty shade.
Sandy Liang is one of the many designers of today who understand that it’s all about the references, and this lineup was no different. With her newest collection, dreams of becoming a undercover spy or a New York City princess become a possibility, like something out of your fav fairytale or rom-com.
