Inside Kim Kardashian’s Museum-Level Fashion Archive (W Magazine)

Images courtesy of Getty. Collage by Ashley Peña As one of the world’s most famous women, it’s fitting that Kim Kardashian owns one of the most famous closets. And her shelves aren’t just full of vintage Mugler and archival John Galliano for Dior, either. They’re brimming with holy grail pieces that once belonged to icons more famous than she is: most notably, Princess Diana, Michael and Janet Jackson, and Elvis Presley. The Skims founder has gotten her hands on these items mainly through high-stakes auctions. Of course, she’s coughed up quite a pretty penny doing so—ponying up anywhere from $8,000 to almost $400,000 for her prizes. Clearly, if Kim ever wanted to get into the museum business, she’d have plenty of material...

NYLON’S FALL 2024 COAT GUIDE (NYLON)

Layering is a losing game, especially when it’s 40 degrees at 9 a.m. and 67 degrees by 2 p.m., and that puffer you thought was a great idea to walk to the train in is now moist with sweat. That’s why we turned to one of the premiere coat-wearers, Suki Waterhouse, for a little advice on how to wear coats this fall. Miss Sparklemuffin has an affinity for furry, cozy coats that she’s worn everywhere from Coachella to New York Fashion Week. But beyond her penchant for shaggy outerwear, she also has some more practical styles up her sleeve for grabbing coffee and staying cool (and warm). Below, we’ve outlined five of her best coat moments, from her statement shearlings to a fuzzy, fringed sweater-coat that...

NEW MOM HAILEY BIEBER CAN’T STOP DRESSING LIKE A DAD (NYLON)

Hailey Bieber, purveyor of dewy skincare and nail-and-makeup trendsetter, has been relatively mum in 2024 — understandably so, as she gave birth to her first child, Jack Blues Bieber, in early August. This fall, as a new mom, Bieber is slowly returning to our Instagram feeds with appearances at a star-studded Rhode launch event and casual outings with her hubby, and her style is, ironically, more masculine than ever. The Biebers were spotted at a Beverly Hills spa on Oct. 28, and Hailey’s ‘fit channeled dad style for the second time this month. Mrs. Bieber is no stranger to coffee-colored trends: Her signature Rhode lip treatment comes in “espresso,” and she’s been known to wear a mostly neutral palette. Her outfit last night channeled all the colors...

Tyla Resurrects Tom Ford-Era Gucci at the 2024 CFDA Awards (W Magazine)

While most guests at last night’s CFDA Awards looked to the recent spring 2025 runways for their red carpet looks, Tyla landed upon something entirely different: Tom Ford-era Gucci. The singer dipped into Ford’s ’90s archive for the Oscars of American Fashion, turning a sheer club dress into an impactful step-and-repeat moment. Tyla picked out a lace number from Ford’s spring 1996 collection for Gucci—yes, meaning her look’s about eight years older than she is. Her dress’s micro-mini silhouette and sheer fabric weren’t the only focal points. It featured a plunging cut-out that dropped to the singer’s waist and a small clasp detail that imitated a bra closure. Tyla’s neon underwear, which poked out from underneath her dress, not only referenced Ford’s beloved...

The Best Celebrity Halloween Costumes of 2024 (W Magazine)

Between elaborate costumes and exclusive parties, Halloween is no joke for celebrities. It’s a time for stars to get creative, an opportunity to break from their usual wardrobes in favor of over-the-top costumes and offbeat hair and makeup. It’s time to really put those Hollywood stylists, glam teams, and disposable incomes to use. Put simply—don’t expect any bagged Party City costumes from the VIP crowd. This year’s batch of costumes has already included everything from tongue-in-cheek pop culture references (Lizzo dressed up as an Ozempic shot), classic outfits referencing landmark films like The Matrix, and couples costumes from Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco. Since Halloween falls on a Thursday this year, stars have two whole weekends to really show off their spookiest...

Shanghai Fashion Week Is Nothing Like You’d Expect (SSENSE)

Days after arriving in Shanghai, I found a rare moment of calm amid a whirlwind of cutting-edge retail, fashion shows, luxury car rides, VPN-free anxiety, and more dumplings than I’d care to admit. Over tea at The House in Xintiandi, I sat down with Landon Du, director of Shanghai Fashion Week, for a lesson in the city’s forward-thinking approach to fashion. “Shanghai Fashion Week was founded in 2003 by Lv Xiaolei, better known as Madame Lv,” Du explained. “The mission was to support emerging designers. The real shift came in 2012, when designers who had studied abroad began returning, showing just how powerful Chinese fashion could be.” Throughout the week, I witnessed the depth and complexity of Shanghai’s scene firsthand, speaking with...

Denim Loungewear And Cashmere ‘Jean’ Jackets: Non-Denim Denim Is Having A Major Moment (ELLE UK)

As a millennial woman with both a personal and professional interest in style, I feel that any use of the word ‘jeggings’ should come with a trigger warning. So here you go… trigger warning: jeggings! Remember them, the stretch-denim (or denim appropriating; printed and detailed to resemble it) leggings that were billed as the easy, comfortable way to do skinny jeans? Of course you do; they dominated our wardrobes in the late Noughties and early 2010s (‘jeggings’ entered the Oxford English Dictionary in 2011, the same year as ‘retweet’ and ‘sexting’). Since then we have come to realise that jeans are not necessarily best seemingly painted to your skin, and have found a renewed appreciation for rigid denims, classic cuts and boyish silhouettes. Even if you’re on board with...

FASHION SHOW, THE REAL SHOW HAPPENS (SSENSE)

But a new kind of fashion fan has become the protagonist of the 2020s industry—and they don’t care about being inside the show. Hundreds of people can amass outside of runway shows in Paris. At first the crowds were small; a couple of kids hoping to see Rick Owens chilling outside the Palais de Tokyo. Now, shows attract such rabid fans that the police will cordon off streets, erect barricades, and establish a presence days in advance. It’s a tactical approach to making sure no one gets too good a view of Jisoo or Rosalía, though some shows, like Christian Dior, take an additional precaution, creating another inner sanctum where only the star’s drivers and accredited photographers can be present for...

As a Denimhead, I’m All In on Jean Bags (VOGUE)

Photo: Getty Images Products are independently selected by our editors. We may earn an affiliate commission from links. We all have that one obsession that informs our personal style, and for me, it has always been jeans. Growing up as a fashion lover in rural Canada, with no access to the hottest new brands or covetable designer items, I developed a fascination around working with what I could find locally—denim—and making it feel avant-garde. Super-skinny jeans, ripped jeans that were splattered with paint; I took delight in finding the most off-kilter pairs, often DIY’ing them to make them even more weird. Today, my closet is still overflowing with jeans—from baggy to skinny to flared. They're my kryptonite! And can you blame me? They’re a classic...
