TikTok Loves This Viral $42 Slick-Back Brush. Does It Live Up to the Hype? (W Magazine)

Image treatment by Ashley Peña We may receive a portion of sales if you purchase a product through a link in this article. I’m not ashamed to admit that styling my hair is my least favorite part of getting ready. While I could happily sit and do my makeup for hours, my hair is a different story. I don’t have a hairstylist bone in my body, and especially when it comes to updos, my unruly, frizz-prone strands have me waving a white flag of surrender. But all of that changed when I started using the Emi Jay Mini Boar Bristle Brush. Is it dramatic to say that I’m a happier person having this boar-bristle hairbrush in my life? Yes. Is it true? Absolutely. I credit my...

Selena Gomez’s ‘Sunset Blvd’ Glam Is Inspired By a Cult-Classic ’80s Film (W Magazine)

YouTube Selena Gomez is taking inspiration from those cult classics. In a new video for her song “Sunset Blvd,” the singer and actor went full ’80s vixen in hair and makeup that nodded to Francis Ford Coppola’s 1982 film, One from the Heart. The vintage-inspired visual, directed by Petra Collins, begins with Gomez daydreaming about her fiancé Benny Blanco. Gomez changes between several looks in the video—black Victoria’s Secret lingerie, a cherry red look, and a white button-down—but maintains a singular beauty look throughout. She opted for a bold red lip and coiffed Hollywood curls. A classic red manicure completed the look. Like a true Hollywood starlet, she draped herself in tons of diamond bijoux. One specific moment in which Gomez sings adoringly to...

Doechii and Tyla Teach Two Different Lessons In Sheer Dressing (W Magazine)

Gilbert Flores/Billboard/Getty Images According to Doechii and Tyla, there’s no one way to wear a naked dress. The Grammy winners hit the red carpet over the weekend in sheer looks that approached the art of transparent dressing quite differently. While Doechii went the vintage route for her dress (with a Carrie Bradshaw-approved accessory to match), Tyla stayed current in a see-through number straight from the most recent Paris runways. Doechii slipped into a vintage Donna Karan piece from fall 2014 to attend the Billboard Women in Music event. A daring hip-high slit was balanced by a touch of modesty thanks to the velour paneling throughout the bodice and skirt. Sheer dresses might seem like a fairly new phenomenon on the step and repeat,...

TOYS, TRINKETS AND CHARMS TO ADD TO YOUR WISH LIST… AND TO YOUR BAG (HypeBae)

This year, charms, trinkets and toys have taken our outfits, homes and overall style to a whole new level. Bag charms are no longer just a nostalgic throwback to childhood, they’ve made a major comeback, with all of our handbags getting the “Birkin-ified” treatment. Leading the bag charm movement is POP MART, a brand renowned for its blind box figures and charms, which has found massive success under the umbrella of StockX — a powerhouse marketplace dominating the digital world with its viral blind boxing videos and high-in-demand drops. According to its latest report, it is now the platform’s second most-traded collectible brand, averaging over 1,000 daily sales in January 2025. Its meteoric rise is largely driven by the runaway success of Labubu, one...

DEVON LEE CARLSON’S REFORMATION COLLECTION IS A TASTE OF HER OLDER-SISTER STYLE (NYLON)

We may receive a portion of sales if you purchase a product through a link in this article. If you’ve ever been jealous of Sydney Carlson’s ability to pilfer pieces from her older sister Devon Lee’s closet during a sleepover, the fashion world has listened to your desires. Specifically, Reformation tapped Devon Lee and her carefree Venice Beach energy for a collection of Y2Chaotic-lite fashion and of-the-moment accessories that are worthy of a close look (or payment plan). Devon Lee quickly went from phone-case purveyor to Balenciaga model with her easy California style mixed with hits from the early aughts. Her devil-may-care SoCal spirit is evident in the Reformation line, with polka-dot minis, suede skirts, farm-girl tops, and retro going-out tops that feel aligned with the inimitable style from 13 Going On 30....

IS WEARING TROUSERS… OFFICIALLY OVER? (Hypebae)

Judging by recent fashion week runways, it definitely seems like it. Yes, is the short answer, judging by the last three seasons of fashion week. During the Spring/Summer 2024 shows, we saw brands like Natasha Zinko, SRVC and Miaou leading the charge with boxer shorts and tiny pants, initially dismissed as a phase or a trend. But the distinct lack of trousers on the runway seemed to re-emerge even during the Fall/Winter 2024 season, seen at shows from Vivienne Westwood and Susan Fang to Dilara Findikoglu. Baum und Pferdgarten, Sinead O’Dwyer and ROTATE took over for Spring/Summer 2025, continuing to prove that shorter hems were the way forward. In summer, hot pants and boy shorts made perfect sense, but now, it seems the controversial trend has become more of a way of life. Also evidenced by Acne Studios‘ recent Fall/Winter 2025 collection, which favored...

Sabrina Carpenter Revisits Classic Summer Trends for Italian Vacation (W Magazine)

Sabrina Carpenter Revisits Classic Summer Trends for Italian Vacation by Matthew Velasco March 28, 2025 @sabrinacarpenter It’s officially vacation season—well, almost—and no one is more excited than Sabrina Carpenter. The Grammy winner shared a glimpse into her recent Italian getaway, all while previewing what may be some of summer 2025’s biggest trends (or at least revisiting some all star summer trends from the past).   Carpenter slipped into a bold floral set for a boating trip with friends. Her light pink blouse featured a nipped-in waist juxtaposed with free-flowing bell sleeves. The piece was just sheer enough that the singer’s yellow bra was visible from underneath. Florals have always been a summer staple, but Carpenter’s version of the print is more in line with the pastel, airy kinds...
