Global supermodel and fashion mogul Bella Hadid can now add brand ambassador to her growing list of accomplishments. Hadid stars as the face of Swarovski’s newest campaign, personifying luxury in a contemporary and innovative manner.
Conceptualized by creative director Giovanna Engelbert, the campaign images, shot by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, depict the multifaceted sides of the crystal as a versatile and expressive accessory. Hadid, a transformative muse, embodies a liberated approach to fashion and dressing that redefines tradition.
“Bella Hadid sums up the individualistic and transformative attitude of a new global generation. She is a multifaceted character who evades the boxes of rules and conformity. She goes from sporty to glamorous while remaining the same girl – the same Bella – with confidence and authority,” Engelbert said. “In that sense, she conveys the values of Swarovski to perfection. Today, crystals are a dynamic part of our everyday wardrobe: a way of accentuating your individual style in a way that can be as casual as it can be elaborate. Bella is the poster girl for this state of mind.”
Unbound and effortless, a series of portraits highlights Hadid in a state of joyful opulence heightened by the glamour of crystal jewelry. Six faces of the model represent six colors of the crystal, each photo framed by a colorful crystal aperture in the shape of an octagon, simulating the brand’s logo, packaging, and signature Millenia Family.
“I was very familiar with Swarovski already. It really is such a timeless and iconic brand. I love the new collections and what the brand has been doing, especially these past two years under the creative vision of Giovanna, and I really see Swarovski as the contemporary jewelry brand of the future,” Hadid said. “Jewelry is about expression and celebrating individuality – Swarovski celebrates all people and the idea of modern glamour, and I love that.”
Each color represents a different side of Hadid’s personality and style: yellow is sporty, pink is sweet, green is cool, blue is bohemian, metallic is sunshine, and clear white is glam. The campaign reflects that crystals, just like Hadid, are dynamic, transformative, and modern.
