THE BEST FALL 2024 PICKS FROM SSENSE INSIDERS (SSENSE)

Love is about peace, familiarity, balance—and having enough room in the closet for two. Who could make a more considerate shopping recommendation to you than the dedicated team that devotes their days to making your wardrobe dreams come true? Here’s a look at the top picks of the fall season, from the hearts of SSENSE employees to your shopping cart.

Christian Dawaf, brand development specialist

Looks so cozy but with a bit of attitude. I love the button details and the shoulder-spread collar. This, to me, is one of those pieces that you can’t really find anywhere else. I’d style it with a black knit turtleneck, baggy blue jeans, and some chunky white sneakers. This would be my go-to outfit to get through the commute to SSENSE HQ on a chilly day in fall.

Featured In This Image: The Row heels.

Anna Raponi, junior buyer, womenswear

I’m obsessed with this cerulean color right now and love how they’re simultaneously mother-of-the-bride yet super sexy. I would probably pair them with some baggy shorts, a tight tee, and a leather bomber.

Alex Braams-Diamond, assistant buyer, menswear

I actually just got these because why wear the pants when you can embody egalitarian power dynamics with a. . . skant? I love that it’s not the traditional skirt over pants but has shorts on the right leg. I’m wearing these with the skirt tied low and slanted, a crisp white button-up or a thrashed tee and derbies.

Annie Quenneville, editorial manager, French

Fashion-wise, I like to hang out in the Venn diagram of ’90s Mitsou and folksy witch-core. This shirt features all the adornments I adore—huge collar! Eyelets! Embroidery! I’d style it with these frilly SHUSHU/TONG Culotte Shorts, black see-through tights, and this pair of Toga Pulla Mary Jane Flats that ties it all together with cute bow accents and cowboy hardware.

Featured In This Image: Bode shorts.

Alex Kessler, lead editor

I love a jaunty little shorts moment—for me, shorts are a year-round custom. This charming jacquard check Bode piece is ideal for summer, paired with a baggy tee, fisherman sandals, and a baseball cap. But add a thick, smart jacket and wooly socks, and bam, you’re ready to bulldoze through fall without a shiver.

Eloise MacIntosh, senior marketing specialist

Favorite item: Aesther Ekme Brown Midi Bag

I’ve been wanting to add this chocolate-brown suede bag to my wardrobe and fall seems like the perfect time to do so. For the daytime, I would style the bag with black twill pants, a black sweater, and loafers. For the evening, a black tee and blazer, with dark denim and a black boot.
I like the shape, the lines, and the texture, and I think it’s the ideal size for a day-to-night bag.

Featured In This Image: Prada mules.

Gwashali Shivute, brand partnerships lead

Black Patent Leather Prada Mules are a perfect balance of classic opulence, elegance, and comfort all while being Prada—she’s definitely my kind of girl. Paired with a pair of Dries Van Noten wide-leg denim pants, a simple Citizens of Humanity white T-shirt, a thrifted grandpa tweed blazer, and power purse to finish it off. I like an outfit that can carry me through the day.

Featured In This Image: LU’U DAN jeans.

Sonia Sun, senior manager, online personal shopping

I always appreciate the exaggerated fun silhouette from LU’U DAN, and love the details of the side zips that I can play with; super versatile. For the fall, I’d wear these jeans with a knit top and heeled boots, and throw on a bomber leather jacket or blazer when it’s getting colder.

Featured In This Image: Balenciaga hoodie.

Roy Mukuva, senior buyer, menswear

I’m starting to romanticize the fall and to me, nothing says cozy quite like a hoodie. This layered option from Balenciaga is definitely on my Wishlist! It perfectly straddles that intersection of being interesting and cool, but not doing too much. The versatility—being able to play around with it—means you can wear it in many ways. I’d pair this with anything from straight or baggy jeans, cargos, shorts, or even dress pants if I wanted to clean it up a little. Footwear options are equally as diverse, with anything from sneakers to boots to loafers being on the agenda.

Featured In This Image: C.P. Company shirt.

Robby Kelly, senior digital content editor

Oasis are getting back together? You don’t have to give me an excuse to add more badges and lenses to my wardrobe. Much like Stone Island, C.P. Company is known for its performance and more athletically minded materials, but it was cotton fabrics and slightly more traditional menswear styles that caught my eye the most while thumbing through the brand’s Milan showroom earlier this year. An overshirt is a versatile layering workhorse from fall to spring, and I can already picture how great this one will look once broken in with a few scuffs and spills tattooed on it—the way it’s intended to age.

Featured In This Image: Junya Watanabe skirt.

Luba Mikhnovsky, internal communications specialist

As someone who wears black year-round, I’m excited to see the resurgence of goth style for this fall. This Junya Watanabe Layered Miniskirt gives me major modern-day, more subtle, or dare I say, demure, Edward Scissorhands vibes—one of my all-time favorite movies—with all the belts adding that perfect touch of drama. I can already visualize myself styling it with opaque black tights, combat-style boots, and a fitted Rick Owens Biker Leather Jacket. Is this what they call method dressing? If there’s ever a remake of Edward Scissorhands, someone please invite me to the premiere.

Featured In This Image: VETEMENTS sweatpants.

Jaime Salgado, associate graphic designer

My pick for this fall is the VETEMENTS Black Tracksuit Sweatpants. Maximalist in design yet grounded in color, they’re a step back from the frenziedness of summer ’24—ideal for both introspective mid-September walks at the park and early Monday morning work meetings. I’d style them with a crisp Jil Sander White Patch Pocket PoloLOEWE’s Black Round Slim SunglassesY/Project’s Black Baseball Cap, and the YUME YUME Black Camp Low Slip-On Loafers.
