When it comes to updating your summer wardrobe, we have always found that less is more. Why spend weeks sourcing a whole new capsule when, really, all you need is one or two well-chosen items to give your pre-existing staples a new lease of life? Naturally, it’s our job to hunt down these hot weather heroes, and for summer 2022, the line-up is looking pretty great – if we do say so ourselves.
In the red corner, we have the statement pieces: items that are perfect for adding interest to your favourite basics. Take the jazzy short-sleeved shirt, which will look just as good over a white tank and jeans as it will with a bikini on holiday. There’s also the elevated co-ord, which is surely one of the easiest and quickest ways to create an outfit during the warmer months – we recommend going for a pairing in a vibrant hue or fun print.
In the blue corner, we have the minimalist must-haves. Drawing from this season’s ’90s revival, the clean-lined platform sandal gives 2021’s “dad” sandal a run for its money – wear with everything from midi-dresses to white denim. Speaking of denim, we’ve also included an edit of jeans that were born to be worn in the sun: think pastel and white hues and the odd rip (trust us on this one).
So if you’re looking for something to press refresh on your summer wardrobe, scroll down to see and shop our definitive edit.
