At last, after a several-season hiatus from in-person shows, New York Fashion Week made its return from the URL to the IRL for the spring summer 2022 season. While there was palpable excitement for a return to shows, the past two seasons of virtual presentations and events were not for naught. In fact, there were many learnings to be had after being forced to show digitally. Those brands that were accustomed to the status quo were presented with the opportunity to prioritize and even embrace the digital realm.

Now, with the return of in-person fashion week, many designers seem to be not only equipped for live streaming their shows post-pandemic, but they’re also moving more seamlessly into the see now, buy now model that was once reserved for only a few digitally-savvy brands. This season, designers like Altuzarra, Sergio Hudson, LaQuan Smith, and Jason Wu had their shows live streamed on NYFW.com with the option to shop directly from the show while the models were simultaneously making their way down the catwalk in real-time. And, designers like Rodarte, Altuzarra, and Oscar de la Renta streamed their runway shows for New York Fashion Week on Amazon Live with the ability to watch and shop the items from each brand on Amazon’s Luxury Stores.

While it will be interesting to witness the progression of see now, buy now technologies and methodologies, but for now, it’s capturing shoppers’ attention. Take Willy Chavarria, for example; the designs from the spring 2022 runways are available on made to order basis via the email address listed on their site. Also, there’s the Dundas and Revolve’s collaboration, which sold out almost immediately after pieces went live in tandem with their NYFW show and have already been restocked. And then see Markarian and Peter Do, whose elegant designs are already available for a limited time via trunk show on Moda Operandi and will deliver in the spring.

Markarian

Markarian’s glamorous new spring collection showed in New York’s iconic Rainbow Room. This marked the brand’s first-ever runway show, and the ultra-pretty, romantic dresses and matching separates are available to pre-order on Moda Operandi now, set to arrive at your door in April.

Dundas x Revolve

Dundas teaming up with Revolve made waves this New York Fashion Week. Together, the retail giant known for fast delivery and the designer were able to offer consumers a nimble, true see now, buy now experience. Just like your normal Revolve experience, the runway looks from this collection will arrive at your door in a matter of days after you place the order.

Peter Do

Peter Do, a brand that was started in 2018 by five longtime friends, also had their first runway show this season in Brooklyn with the Manhattan skyline setting the scene. The minimalist, elegant pieces are set to ship from Moda Operandi by April 29.

Sergio Hudson

Sergio Hudson’s latest collection featuring bold suiting and graphic giraffe-printed coats is available to shop on Saks Fifth Avenue now with an expected ship date no later than October 2.

Jonathan Simkhai

Jonathan Simkhai’s slinky, colorful space-dye knits and calming pastel pullovers and dresses are available to order now, and will be ready to ship April 14.

Brandon Maxwell

Brandon Maxwell is another see now, buy now trunk show on Moda Operandi with a delivery date of April 14. The cool-girl meets preppy aesthetic means fun sequined polos with matching skirts that can be dressed down with sneakers or up with heels, and somehow sweet and psychedelic mushroom emblazoned tees that will amp up your jeans-and-a-tee look this spring.

Khaite

Khaite’s moody spring show set the tone for what is cool in the upcoming months. Sleek raffia tote bags, strapless leather tops, and frilly leather heeled sandals will have you excited for an edgy, yet polished spring ahead once these items ship on April 14.

Altuzarra

Altuzarra is another beloved brand that showed at NYFW and adhered to a see now, buy now model. The brand live streamed their show with a shoppable component on NYFW.com, and now you can shop the shibori printed dresses and skirts for pre-order and sit back and relax until they ship between January 16 to March 15.
