From baguette bags to mesh tops to The Matrix-inspired tiny sunglasses, there have been few ’90s trend revivals that Kendall Jenner hasn’t had something to do with. And now, it appears the model and entrepreneur is casting her eye to the following decade for style inspiration: more specifically, the boho-chic look pioneered by the likes of Kate Moss and Sienna Miller that swept through fashion in the mid-noughties.
As the host of the star-studded launch of her new tequila brand, 818, in West Hollywood last night—other attendees included Katy Perry, Hailey and Justin Bieber, and Drake—Jenner chose to wear a vintage Moschino floral silk crop top with a lace trim and a pair of vintage Chloé hip-hugging suede trousers with a lace-up detail. The finishing touch? A pair of Bottega Veneta square toe heels and a tiny leather By Far shoulder bag in a matching shade of beige.
While the look clearly drew inspiration from the floaty silhouettes and tactile fabrics that were so memorably worn by Kate Moss with a pair of Hunter wellies or the Olsen twins with stacks of vintage jewelry in the ’00s, Jenner put a sleeker, California girl twist on the style that was instantly party-ready. (After all, you wouldn’t want to be wearing pale suede on a rainy day at Glastonbury festival.) So is boho-chic finally ready to have its long-overdue revival? Clearly, Jenner says yes.
