12 SHOES TO START FALL ON THE RIGHT FOOT (V Magazine)

What better way to get back in the groove being in person at the office or in class after WFH for over a year than with a fresh pair of shoes. Now that most jobs and schools are preparing for 100% in-person or a hybrid schedule for the fall, you’re going to need a fresh pair of shoes to make you feel good as you step back into the chaos. If you’re a shoe fanatic like I am, there is nothing quite like the feeling of splurging on a pair of shoes that you’ve been eyeing on for a while in your shopping cart. Well, now is the moment to put your slip-ons and cozy slides away back in the closet...

8 EMERGING DESIGNERS BEHIND YOUR NEW FAVORITE GOING-OUT HEELS (NYLON)

There are two types of people in the world: those who got rid their going-out heels for good, and those who are now finding any occasion to wear them on full display, even if those social plans only involve the local Target. In any case, we’ve all likely got a hankering for the anti-house slipper at this point, if only to commemorate the return to IRL events and all-night-long gatherings — because nothing says “going out-out” style like an extra 3 to 6 inches on your feet. Up-and-coming footwear designers are fulfilling this sartorial need, leaning into the essence of playful, fun-loving “re-emergence” dressing, and the end result, of course, looks uniquely different, depending on your preferred aesthetic. There’s sky-high platforms for the brave and flamboyant, neon...

This Fall Fashion Checklist Will Help You Conquer the Season Ahead (VOGUE)

Out of all of the seasons, autumn arguably requires the most strategy. Fall clothes for women primarily act as a barrier from the brisk weather—it’s a moment when layering is not simply a fashion choice, it’s a matter of practical dressing. This means we have to think about several components when getting dressed. It helps, though, that these seasonal staples seem to affectionately hug our bodies and keep us cozy. Whether it’s a cozy, lived-in sweater or a snug layering piece, there’s no doubt that these fall essentials can bring a bit of joy and comfort into our lives. Who could say no to wrapping up in a cashmere Khaite sweater or lounging in a pair of soft Leset wool trousers? The season often...

Dolce & Gabbana’s Stunning Alta Moda Show in Venice Boasted Both a Lightning Strike and a Rainbow (VOGUE)

Even though Venice was founded 1,600 years ago, it seems safe to say this city has never seen a sight like that which unfolded here tonight. Watched by an audience that included Jennifer Lopez, Sean Combs, Doja Cat, Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Ciara, Monica Bellucci, Christian Bale, Dame Helen Mirren, Kitty Spencer and many more, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana presented their latest Alta Moda collection in a venue that has, until now, never hosted a fashion show: St Mark’s Square. Those amongst the 400 or so super-rich clients in the audience who had attended these Dolce & Gabbana couture shows before knew to expect something extraordinary, and the designers duly delivered. Once we had settled into this so-famous-it-seemed-unreal space, we were treated to...

Adriana Lima’s Hybrid Shoes Are Sure to Be Polarizing (VOGUE)

As the fall season creeps its way closer, you may be thinking about dusting off your boots once again and retiring your open-toe shoes. Unless you’re Adriana Lima, that is, in which case you can have both at the same time. In fact, she may have found fall’s most controversial shoe choice all together: Sky-high stilettos fusing a bootie and a flip flop. Styled by Erin Walsh, Lima wore a LOL cropped tank top and Stella McCartney pants in her Instagram post on Sunday—but it was her Givenchy shoes that stole the show. The Frankenstein-like shoe strangely works. Ugly-chic footwear is on the rise in general, haven’t you heard? Victoria Beckham has also worn a similar pair in the past, so it seems celebrities are officially on board. The...

ARE CORSET SKIRTS THE NEW “IT” FALL ITEM? (NYLON)

On Sunday, Aug. 29, Poosh founder and TV star Kourtney Kardashian was seen alongside her Blink-182 beau Travis Baker in Venice, Italy. In a recent off-duty photo, the pop-punk lovebirds – whose relationship was confirmed earlier this year – were seen hand-in-hand, with Barker rocking a grey graphic tee with pinstriped patchwork pants from Enfants Riches Déprimés, black sneakers, and black sunglasses from Prada. Right by his side, Kourtney opted for a deep-V black cardigan over a black bustier and a red brocade corset skirt, complementing her hourglass figure. She paired the look with studded mules from Givenchy and black sunglasses. With Kourtney debuting an entirely new look this year of punched up punk ‘fits, it’s no surprise the media superstar was seen in the beloved corset skirt. The lace-up...

This Celebrity-Approved Jewelry Designer Is Obsessed With Snakes (VOGUE)

If you’re ophidiophobic, you may want to look away. Lilith by Sita is a new jewelry brand that finds beauty and inspiration in snakes. The label’s statement earrings, belts, and necklaces all feature the slithery reptiles on them and have been worn by Billie Eilish, Kim Kardashian, and Rosalía. The brand was founded in 2018 by Sita Abellan, a Spanish DJ, model, and stylist turned designer based in Barcelona. (Fun fact: She has a casual cameo in Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have My Money” music video.) Abellan saw designing as an organic extension of the styling work she was doing, primarily for Colombian musician J Balvin. “I have always loved fashion and expressing myself through it, and styling inspired me to draw and design new...

Beyoncé Transforms Into “BarBey” With Some Help From Versace (W Magazine)

Beyoncé’s spree of showcasing her outfit excellence on Instagram continues. On Saturday, she attended a celebration of the 18th anniversary and reopening of her husband Jay-Z’s The 40/40 Club in New York City. Eschewing the event photographers, she instead posted another of her self-directed photoshoots showcasing an outfit styled by KJ Moody. As usual, even more photos appeared on his own Instagram, along with an apt description of the look: “Malibu Bey Barbie Dream.” (“My Barbie is literally wearing those same shoes!,” one follower commented.) The hot pink color scheme came courtesy of the Madrid-based label The 2nd Skin Co., which designed Beyoncé’s organza trench coat, and Versace, which designed her satin platform pumps and suede drawstring bag. Both accessories were accented with...

This Week, the Best Dressed Stars Brought Vacation Vibes to Work (VOGUE)

Everyone can make the most of summer style, even if they aren’t on holiday. Last week, celebrities had plenty of work to do thanks to a full schedule of movie premieres and televised appearances. Still, most found a way to bring lighthearted energy to their wardrobes. In Los Angeles, Thandiwe Newton continued her press tour for Reminiscence by stopping by Jimmy Kimmel Live in the moment’s key color: electric chartreuse. Newton’s pleated, neon, silk-chiffon Brandon Maxwell dress from the designer’s spring/summer 2021 collection was refreshing as a cocktail. Paired with glittery Paris Texas boots, Newton’s outfit made a bold statement on screen. The fact that it coordinated perfectly with the tie-dye Alexander McQueen suit worn by guest host RuPaul was the cherry on top. Of course, you didn’t...

Fall Florals Will Be This Season’s Go-To Print (VOGUE)

Though we know and love bright, punchy, flowery prints as the hero pattern of spring and summer, fall-hued florals are sure to become equally as popular this season. These slightly darker, more muted versions will not only complement your existing wardrobe but will make your fashion transition from summer to fall that much easier. When the time comes to put away those blooming dresses, floral crocheted bucket hats, and meadowy bikinis, reach for a simple gold necklace with floral beads stationed throughout, a knit cardigan with delicate flower embroidery, or a solid pair of clogs with floral accents. Fall florals aren’t as overpowering or vivid as their spring counterparts, but they also don’t have to be any less lovely. An allover print may be translated into a sheer floral-patterned overlay, and bright...
