SJP’S “IT’S A BAGUETTE” RESUSCITATED IN FENDI’S RESORT 2023 COLLECTION (V Magazine)

Rewind to season 3, episode 13, "It's not a bag, it's a Baguette," declared Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City, and the pop apotheosis of the Baguette was complete. A statement that is also inscribed inside each of SJP's capsule bags, or rather Baguettes. Once upon a time, in a cutthroat romance where uptown meets downtown, Fendi marked its 25th anniversary with a celebration of the house's famed Baguette bag. To properly acknowledge the milestone, the sculptors of the Fendi atelier, Kim Jones and Silvia Venturini Fendi, came on the scene to - the place where the position of the bag in pop culture history was sealed – New York City. The debut featured special collections from Marc Jacobs,...

DION LEE LOOKS TO PATTERNS IN NATURE FOR SS23 (V Magazine)

It’s day 2 of New York Fashion Week, and up next is an It-Girl favorite and a designer that stands firmly on the NYFW circuit, Dion Lee. Stylists, editors, and fashionistas—all head to toe in the Australian designer’s pieces, of course—replace the office works that typically occupy the vacant top floor of a Hudson Yards skyscraper. Typically inspired by architectural shapes, the grittiness of the exposed concrete room further emphasized that theme, creating quite the ambiance for a Dion Lee show. The SS23 collection, however, nods to the opposite—the patterns in nature. Dion Lee presents SS23 Biomimicry. Offering a fusion of traditional tailoring across recognizable corsets, Lee’s SS23 collection merges the brand’s traditional codes with hints of surprise elements—like motocross fashion...

The Can’t-Miss Designers of New York Fashion Week Spring 2023 (W Magazine)

New York Fashion Week is nearly upon us. And if you’ve attended previous seasons, this one’s calendar will give you flashbacks to just how packed it used to be. Some of the highlights are obvious—Tom Ford, anyone?—but there are others you’d do best not to let slip through the cracks. Here, a roundup of the five labels and designers to keep on your radar in the week to come. . Maisie Wilen Maisie Schloss came up with a rather genius method of creating her latest Maisie Wilen prints: entering around 20 of the most disparate things she could conceive into the AI image generator DALL-E. “I was just putting in a lot of very abstract prompts and stock images to get strange textures as...

Pamela Anderson Brings Big Bombshell Energy to Heaven by Marc Jacobs (W Magazine)

The traditional fashion schedule may have been completely upended over the past two years, but if there’s one thing you can rely on to arrive at the same time each year it’s fashion’s fall/winter campaigns. Each summer, like clockwork, luxury houses start to unveil their cinematic ads featuring top models and Hollywood’s A-listers, often both at the same time. Early out of the gate this year was Prada’s men’s campaign starring Jeff Goldblum, Damson Idris, and Rami Malek photographed by David Sims and juxtaposed with still life portraits of the actors’ personal items. Sims would go on to apply a similar creative direction to Prada’s womenswear campaign starring Hunter Schafer and Kendall Jenner. Some brands’ ads have not only welcomed...

9 DENIM TRENDS THAT ARE GOING TO BE EVERYWHERE THIS FALL (NYLON)

As we begin to transition into cozy season, it’s officially time to iron out our favorite uniform: denim, jeans, and some more denim on top. Fall 2022’s trends is especially exciting for denim lovers with a slew of unique and reimagined styles that the style set is already snatching up for the fall and winter months ahead. From denim outerwear to underwear (OK, maybe not our intimates but Dua Lipa just made a hard case for it), we’re shopping for denim everything. Fashion has jumped leaps and bounds to resuscitate virtually every Y2K trend in the book over the last couple of years but, alas, stylemakers are beginning to get privy to decades prior. The return of indie sleaze has helped set the stage for the current grand...

This Was the Summer of Street Style Vintage (VOGUE)

Everything old is new again, the saying goes. Celebs have surely taken the aphorism to heart this summer. Wearing rare and covetable vintage designer pieces for, say, a trip to the grocery store or chilling by the pool has become a key trend. That’s right, a ’90s-era Jean Paul Gaultier slip dress or a Tom Ford-era Gucci bag is no longer reserved for major moments like the red carpet or music videos. The summer of 2022 has been all about casual vintage glamor. This is both a surprising and natural development. Celebrities have developed a penchant for wearing vintage on the red carpet recently, providing fresh, modern spins on hard-to-come-by pieces of yesteryear and showcasing the sheer timelessness of good design. Zendaya wore...

ALEXA DEMIE IS OFFICIALLY THE FACE OF BALENCIAGA (NYLON)

Euphoria may not be filming its next season just yet but Alexa Demie is keeping busy on the fashion front, landing her first-ever Balenciaga campaign for its Fall 2022 collection. The actress has been a close friend of the brand for some time now, sitting front row at runway shows and wearing Demna-designed pieces both on the red carpet and while off-duty. Balenciaga’s Fall 2022 campaign, created by Berlin-based photographer Daniel Roché, continues with the French fashion house’s futuristic-inspired runway show of simulated weather. (As a refresher, models walked through an orchestrated snowstorm within a glass dome at Paris Faris Fashion Week.) The imagery takes on a similar theme, with Demie and the rest of the campaign’s models wearing outfits that seem not-so-suited for their surroundings — faux...

This Bag Is The Definition Of Quiet Luxury (VOGUE UK)

Logos are everything for some fashion fans, but for every proud owner of Balenciaga’s Hourglass bag (a Kim Kardashian favourite), or Jacquemus’s Le Grand Bambino (Dua Lipa’s holiday staple), there’s someone who prefers the quiet luxury of The Row’s Half Moon style. Modelled on sleek silhouettes from the ’90s, the ergonomic curved design fits discreetly under the shoulder without so much as a bulge. Deceptively capacious – depending on the size of your iPhone – the suede-lined inner contrasts the Italian leather outer, which is embossed with the tiniest brand stamp you’re likely to ever witness. Blink and you’ll miss it – that’s the whole point. The mini model is emblematic of the stealth-wealth style Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have cultivated since founding...

Bella Hadid Turns Into a Balenciaga Vixen in Offset’s Latest Video (VOGUE)

Bella Hadid is full of surprises. In her latest venture, she transformed into a video vixen in “Code” by rap star Offset feat. Moneybagg Yo, released today. And yes, there was a gorgeous display of Balenciaga with the help of Demna himself. Hadid and Offset are no strangers to having fun with fashion, and this saucy video is proof. “Code” takes its audience on a vibrant Y2K-esque spin, styled and envisioned by creative director SheShe Pendleton. Offset and Bella Hadid.  Photo: PhobyMo First on screen is Hadid by herself, a shining vision in a double-B Balenciaga chain and a studded bikini, accompanied by lace opera gloves. Viewers are immediately transported into the world of Balenciaga with Offset in an all-leather baby blue motocross jacket-and-pant set. And keeping in...

How Emily Ratajkowski, Hailey Bieber, and More Celebs Are Making Us Fall for Cargo Pants (VOGUE)

One of the joys of street style watching is seeing how celebrities transform mundane items into memorable fashion moments. For example, cargo pants for women don’t exactly scream whimsical wardrobe must-have, but Hailey Bieber, Emily Ratajkowski, and Kim Kardashian all recently proved just how glamorous those utilitarian trousers can be. Ratajkowski and Kardashian have both worn coveted camouflage pairs by The Attico, and Rihanna has an equally as fabulous Celine pair. The queens of street style proved that the print can be worn so many different ways, from elevating a basic cropped T-shirt to partnering with statement fall coats. Photo: Getty Images Beyond the traditional camouflage-printed cargo, the heavily-pocketed pant has gotten major makeovers from several designers. Bottega Veneta recently debuted a pair on the runway with long and dramatic...
