Amazon Shoppers Swear by This $9 Drugstore Foundation for a Full-Coverage Look That “Doesn’t Melt in The Heat” (InStyle)

Finding a great foundation to get you through the scorching summer months is a universal struggle for many. Though lightweight foundations tend to work well in the heat, those who crave a full-coverage look may gaze upon the dog days of summer with a twinge of disdain. Beyond worrying about your foundation melting off your face by the end of the night, it's hard to convince yourself to invest in a pricier formula that may no longer match your complexion once a summer tan begins to fade. But Amazon shoppers may have found the affordable antidote to your full-coverage foundation woes. Milani's Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation Concealer is a fan-favorite drugstore formula that costs just $9, but don't let the low price fool you. Its...

Bella Hadid Went Fully ’70s in an Ab-Baring Halter Top and Bell-Bottom Jeans (InStyle)

Bella Hadid is, by all accounts, having a very good week. Go Instagram official with your boyfriend while channeling Cher Horowitz? Check. Make necklaces as tops a thing? Check. Make Stevie Nicks proud on a yacht in the South of France? Check.  The 24-year-old model shared a series of snapshots from her time abroad (and aboard) on Instagram, showcasing a delightfully '70s outfit consisting of a bright multi-colored ab-baring high-low halter top and glittery dark-wash bell-bottom jeans with a brown fade effect at the bottom of each leg. Hadid wore her dark hair in a ponytail and accessorized with large gold hoops and bangles as well as a beaded body chain. NYLON FIT PICKS: RIHANNA & A$AP ROCKY’S COUPLE STYLE, NAOMI OSAKA IN LOUIS VUITTON, & MORE CELEBRITY LOOKS (NYLON)

It’s the summer of celebrity couples this year and Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are leading the charge. The two music and fashion moguls, who went from flirty friends in 2012 to publicly official duo in 2021, have been spotted all over New York City recently. Over the weekend, they were seen on set filming a music video and their outfits were definitely not fit for the humid summer weather. Instead, we’re taking inspiration from their layered looks for our fall aesthetic. Rihanna, styled by her longtime creative director Jahleel Weaver, wore a floor-length shearling coat with a corset top (vintage Dolce & Gabbana from Spring 2005) and baggy brown pants. For accessories, she wore a printed silk headscarf, gold jewelry, and a...

Sacai’s Chitose Abe on Designing Couture for Jean Paul Gaultier (W Magazine)

The moment Chitose Abe’s first look for Jean Paul Gaultier fall 2021 emerged on the runway, it was eminently clear why the French label had chosen the Sacai designer as a collaborator for this season. Abe’s tendency toward stitching together mixed fabrics, or even two different garments, to create a new piece of clothing blended seamlessly with Gaultier’s iconic codes. Marine stripes? Check. Tartan? Check. Only this time, Abe had grafted them together to create a drop-waist dress with a long train. Inevitably, Sacai’s signature touches showed through as well—hand-gathered pleats created 3-D textures, and there were punk-inspired trench coats paired with wide-brim, geometric-shaped hats that appeared straight from Abe’s days cutting her teeth at Comme des Garçons with Rei...

CHANEL ANNOUNCES ELECTRO CAPSULE COLLECTION (V Magazine)

Chanel presents its watch collection "CHANEL ELECTRO", with graphic codes borrowed from 90s Electro culture. The interactive capsule features 90s electro samples to accompany the pieces, along with other references to elctro culture such as a neon color palette and turntables for mixing. Featuring the premiere electro watch box. Image courtesy of Chanel. Electro music was born from the nightlife of the 90s and embodied the culture of the era — the era of Waltpaper and the Club Kids, Limelight and Disco 2000. It was a party that constantly evolved and never stopped. The culture was a visceral performance unlike any other. "CHANEL ELECTRO" contrasts black, white and color in this collection, each intensifying the other. To celebrate the release of the ELECTRO Capsule Collection, Chanel collaborated with Ed Banger...

Isa Boulder Wants to Revive the Craft of Cool Knitwear (W Magazine)

The fashion brand Isa Boulder has redefined the idea of the “awkwardly sexy” aesthetic (think: high-cut, silky, clingy bikinis and thin, futuristic-looking knitwear straight from your favorite ‘90s music video). Designers Cecilia Basari and Yuli Suri launched Isa Boulder three years ago as a Bali-based bespoke swimwear label, after being inspired by local Balinese craftspeople who specialized in making bathing suits. They have since become known in the emerging designer space—their pieces are sold on MatchesFashion, Net-a-porter, and SSENSE and have been worn by the likes of Megan Thee Stallion. While Basari and Suri still make swimwear made-to-order, the label’s knits have grown to be just as strong—shrug argyle sweaters with revealing cut-outs, knitted bra tops, backless sweaters, bodycon dresses, and even...

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA CAPTURED THE HIGH-FASHION WORLD OF THE EARLY 2000S (NYLON)

In the early 2000s, high-end fashion was inescapable in mainstream pop culture. Sex and the City made Manolo Blahnik a household name, while Gossip Girl showed teens as savvy consumers of designer bags. Print fashion magazines still loomed large and fashion blogs were taking off as a means of self-expression. The Devil Wears Prada, the 2006 adaptation of Lauren Weisberger’s dishy 2003 novel, is the ultimate '00s fashion film, capturing all the high-end trends and designers of the time in a breezy rom-com package. As Andy, the bright young assistant to Anna Wintour surrogate Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep at her most fabulously haughty), Anne Hathaway goes through a fashion transformation that’s basically a more sophisticated version of the nerd-to-princess one she went through in The Princess Diaries five...

A LOOK INTO THE BEAUTY BACKSTAGE AT THE CHANEL FALL-WINTER 2021/2022 HAUTE COUTURE SHOW (V Magazine)

Chanel's Fall-Winter 2021/2022 Haute Couture show took place on Tuesday in a theatrical spectacle. Straight from the stylish 16th arrondissement in Paris, the collection was featured against the backdrop of the Palais Galliera, the City of Paris Fashion Museum. Movements of French painting drove the materials and styles, with bright pops of color intended to offset the greyness of winter. Each piece was an artwork, with lines like brushstrokes and sparkly embellishments to give life to the garments. The makeup, too, was an art. But first, every good makeup look must start with a healthy canvas. The makeup artists at Chanel prepped the skin by using the intensely hydrating and illuminating Hydra Beauty Micro-Sérum and Hydra Beauty Camellia Water Cream. As a final touch, the Sublimage La Brume...

How to Wear Neon Eye Makeup Inspired by Off-White’s Fall 2021 Runway (VOGUE)

Neon beauty is having a moment. Last week, singer Selena Gomez took to Instagram to show off her neon coral makeup, which faded out from the inner corners of her eyes and was masterfully executed by Los Angeles-based makeup artist Jenna Nicole. To complete the look, the pop star wore a set of lime-green nails and a bronze tan. Cut to Off-White’s fall 2021 show and, once again, neon took center stage. Using specially crafted crayons in neoprene orange and Yves Klein blue, makeup artist Morgane Martini offered a masterclass in how to work a graphic-neon eye in an off-beat, modern way. Acielle / Style Du Monde“The name of the show was Laboratory of Fun, which instantly led me to colorful makeup ideas, and Virgil wanted a strong eye,” Martini...

MAISON MARGIELA DEBUTS ARTISANAL 2021 COLLECTION FILM (V Magazine)

To John Galliano, Maison Margiela’s creative director, design is a narrative, a story-telling. “Nothing thrills me more than to be outside in the moonlight,” said John Galliano. Through Maison Margiela’s newest film A Folk Horror Tale that presents the 2021 Artisanal co-ed collection, we can surely discover his inspirations from time and nature. In the moonlight, women scream, people fight, and mysterious alchemy is going on. As a transformative process that challenges science and time, driven by human instinct, alchemy aspires to alter the forces of nature. A take on aggression, the film is indeed beautiful and poetic. The film’s narrative is woven into the collection itself, depicted in motifs in the lining of garments, the embroideries of knits, and the adornments of boots....
