The 8 Biggest Beauty Trends of New York Fashion Week Fall 2022 (VOGUE)

We’re all looking for bright spots where we can find them. New York Fashion Week supplied more than a few with an overarching spirit of levity and hopefulness as we enter yet another phase of the pandemic at the two-year mark. And since beauty is a reliable outlet for self-expression (and let’s be real: some catharsis, too), it’s all the more exciting to soak up the inspiring trends we can start embracing now. From glassy skin to unexpected doses of color, here are the eight trends that have emerged throughout New York Fashion Week. Sooty, Deconstructed Gazes 1 / 3 Photographed by Hunter Abrams Altuzarra The week’s standout dark eye looks all had one thing in common–an element of deconstruction. The Most Eye-Catching Beauty Looks from Euphoria Season Two (W Magazine)

If you’re watching Euphoria season two for another round of envelope-pushing makeup looks, you’ll have to look a little closer this time. The mind behind the HBO show’s headline-worthy makeup, Doniella Davy, told Us Weekly that this season, she’s describing the looks as “discoverable” as opposed to in-your-face. “It’s not a repeat of season one,” she said, but instead “more refined and more subtle.” In fact, on Instagram, she referred to the season two makeup looks as “season one’s more introverted sister.” Of course, that doesn’t mean the show will be without its iconic glitter and eye liner. “There’s a steady ‘quiet’ to her, until she’s suddenly loud,” Davy said of the makeup. “She has her full glam moments but then switches to super minimalism.” For the most...

At Collina Strada, Y2K Beauty Evolves for 2022 (VOGUE)

This season, Collina Strada showcased its fall 2022 collection with a digital presentation, inviting the fashion set to experience its version of The Hills, entitled The Collinas (which actually translates to “the hills” in Italian). In the spoof, actor Tommy Dorfman makes her fashion week debut playing a twenty-something moving to New York City for a fashion internship at Collina Strada alongside other stars like Chloe Wise and Aaron Rose Philip. While she's rather clueless on how to actually do her job properly, she’s lovable with great taste—an aspect her peers can’t get enough of. “I love her look though,” gossips one of the characters. “I’m obsessed,” says another. For makeup artist Pat McGrath’s first collaboration with Shayne Oliver, the creative visionaries joined forces to make a dream of “human bouquets” come to life at The Shed’s Griffin Theater. Oliver, who captured the world’s attention as Hood by Air’s creative director, managed to reimagine the fall 2022 show format for the debut of his namesake brand, Shayne Oliver. In New York’s Hudson Yards, Oliver’s creative studio, Anonymous Club, set up three nights of music, fashion, and art under the banner “Headless: The Demonstration.” Photographed by Hunter Abrams “Shayne is an incredibly innovative and collaborative thinker,” McGrath told Vogue of their shared creative process. “His references were a mix of nature, decay, and decadence.” The pair sent images and videos back and forth while...
