Photo courtesy of Versace.  “I think there’s a renewed sense of optimism right now and I wanted this collection to speak to that,” Donatella Versace said, in regards to the new collection. “This season is about having fun with fashion again and it feels right to put something positive into the world. We will never return to the old world or to the old “normal”, there’s no going backward. This is what the new now looks like to me.” The psychedelic patterns in the collection were named Medusa Music,...

QASIMI SHOWCASES DIGITAL SPRING SUMMER 2022 COLLECTION, “ROSES AND ASHES” (V Magazine)

vm615
Courtesy of Qasimi Set in the countryside surrounding London, Qasimi showcases its unisex collection “Between Ashes and Roses”. The name of the collection was inspired by a 20th-century work by the Syrian poet Adunis. Hoor Al-Qasimi, the creative director, said she wanted to send a message of renewal and rebirth, evoking a sense of hope. The digital show takes place at St. Ann’s Court, a country estate in Surrey, and the modernist architecture was done by Sir Raymond McGrath amongst the landscaped idyll, designed by Christopher Tunnard. Courtesy of Qasimi In the polished white modernist landscape, the models pop out on the runway with bursts of bright colors that take cues from the Indian subcontinent mixed in with moody hues from last season. ISABEL MARANT IS BRINGING BACK HER “IT” SNEAKER FROM THE 2010S (NYLON)

VOG615
Isabel Marant, the designer behind a very specific sneaker era in the 2010s, is relaunching one of her coveted styles and giving it a 2021 update. Named the “Balskee,” this brand new style takes inspiration from the beloved “Bekett,” which you may remember is a wedge sneaker with a gum sole, velcro straps, and padded, puffy tongue. The throwback style was a massive hit, worn by off-duty models, fashion editors, and celebrities alike. Beyoncé sported a pair in her music video for “Love On Top,” and Rihanna, Gisele Bündchen, Marion Cotillard, Kerry Washington, and more have been spotted in them, too. Since its release nearly a decade ago, more than 200,000 “Bekett” sneakers have been sold worldwide. “I’ve never stopped wanting to...

Louis Vuitton Sent a Colorful Marching Band Down Its Resort 2022 Runway (W Magazine)

wm615
While New York Fashion Week this September is shaping up to be the most eventful ever, we’re not quite there yet. Before the fashion crowds return to NYC en masse and Hollywood descends upon the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s steps for the first of two Met Galas, there are the resort collections to see. Unlike in years past when designers have seized upon the cruise moment to present their designs in far-flung resort destinations in front of large crowds, fashion houses are still playing it safe and delivering their creations via short fashion films and inventive lookbooks. Although the digital show format is a convenient, low-key experience for those viewing from their couch, the clothes themselves have become more colorful and daring—suggesting what wardrobes need now, more than...

FERRARI IS OFF TO THE RACES WITH ITS DEBUT READY-TO-WEAR COLLECTION (V Magazine)

What do you think of when the word “Ferrari” comes to mind? You think about unparalleled luxury, fast motion like the speed of light, expressive sensuality, and the bold future of modernity. That’s exactly what the legendary Italian car manufacturer has just brought to the fashion industry in the form of the brand's first-ever, ready-to-wear collection. To celebrate the latest extension of the sports car powerhouse, Ferrari pulled out all the big guns in an all-weekend fête in the hometown of Ferrari in Maranello, Italy (which I now refer to as Ferrari-land due to its grandiose presence through the quaint-yet-chic town, which literally could give Disneyland a run for its money.) Just one look through the palatial property, which includes truly...

Boots for Summer? Lily Aldridge, Adut Akech, and More Make the Case (VOGUE)

vog6144
Sandal season is in full force, but some of the most stylish stars are zigging while everyone else is zagging. Instead of the tried-and-true sandal-dress combo, summer-dresses-and-boot outfits have been populating street style images. Turns out there’s no need to wait until fall to wear those combat boots. Just a day ago, Lily Aldridge posted a picture on Instagram showing off a beautiful floral Dôen dress and a pair of classic tan suede ankle boots. Fellow model Adut Akech seems to love the contrast too. Her interpretation of the winning outfit included a red minidress and Prada’s überpopular combat boots. And it’s not just the models who are into the dueling look. Katie Holmes and Diane Kruger are also on board. Each lady has a very distinct sense of style, but their looks all...

Dua Lipa Leans Into Her High-Class Cowgirl Moment in Miu Miu and Burberry (W Magazine)

wmm
When it comes to her high-class cowgirl moment, don’t tell Dua Lipa to stop. Even though there’s not a giant floating egg in sight like there was in her rodeo clown-themed “Love Again” video, Lipa seems intent on bringing what you might call her “Duanne”-era into the summer. “Having a cowgirl moment,” she confirms in the captain of her latest Instagram upload. The singer pairs a buffalo-check Miu Miu cropped jacket with jorts, a red bikini top, a rodeo-ready belt, and Burberry’s Olympia bag for a very western-inspired look. Swipe through, and you’ll find she’s completed the look with knee-high cowboy boots in brown. Yes, her tie-dye patterned nails are giving more of a “hippie” vibe, but cowgirls can always rep peace, love, and...

ny611
The Instagram-loved brand Miaou is getting into swimwear. The brand debuted its new collection on Thursday with three swim styles, as well as other pieces made for a going-out summer. “It felt like a natural direction for the brand to go. I live by the beach, so I wear bikinis all year,” Miaou founder Alexia Elkaim told WWD. “We developed three styles: the Kauai, the Bambi, and the Demi.” The swimwear line launches alongside the label’s new summer collection, which was inspired by ‘90s riot girls and includes swim cover-ups, like corset tops, mesh dresses, matching sets, and low-rise pants.
