A SHAVED HEAD IS SUMMER 2021’S HOTTEST HAIR TREND (NYLON)

NY719
The women’s buzz cut has had a rocky recent past. There’s arguably no more drastic and irreversible hair choice than shaving your head and it’s almost always viewed as more than just a haircut. During Britney Spear’s public (and justified) meltdown in 2007, people saw the shaving of her head as a representation of her instability. At the start of the pandemic, a buzz cut became a symbol of a person whose isolation might have pushed them to the edge or a shedding of bad energy.  This year, the buzz cut is being reclaimed by fashion’s it-girls, making it the official cool-girl hairstyle of summer 2021. One such celebrity is Gen Z model Iris Law, who told British Vogue shaving her hair...

Fendi Shot Its Fall 2021 Campaign Outside of Its Iconic Office (W Magazine)

wm6177
We may still be at the very start of the fall 2021 season, but its accompanying campaigns are already making waves. And depending on who you ask, that’s for better or for worse. Things got heated when Louis Vuitton revealed that it had sourced the house’s latest faces, Emma Chamberlain and Charli D’Amelio, from YouTube and TikTok. Fendi, on the other hand, went with runway regulars like Rianne Van Rompaey, while Donatella Versace casually revealed she convinced Dua Lipa to dye her hair red. See all those, and keep track of those to come, here. . Fendi Photo by Craig McDean via Fendi For Fendi, Kim Jones stayed local: The shoot took place just outside the house’s storied headquarters, Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, in Rome. . . This Valentino Couture Eyeliner Look Is the Summer Makeup We Need Right Now (VOGUE)

VG716
Much is made of Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s ability to bring a modern sensibility to his couture designs, often using volume and a color palette that exists outside of more classic conventions to surprise and delight those lucky enough to attend his presentations (and wear his beautiful clothes). At an intimate show this evening at the Gaggiandre in Venice’s Arsenale, he flexed this specific sartorial muscle yet again, presenting chic suiting and separates, many of which were interchangeable on a cast of men and women, in pops of of canary yellow, emerald green, and a heart-stopping fuchsia. Gowns and cocktail dresses added punchy pinks, baby blues, and the house’s signature red to a color palette that popped against the dusk sky over the 16th-century shipyard....

Why Yellow Eyeshadow Should Be Your Summer Obsession (VOGUE)

VG7155
Just as the long, hot days of summer call for lighter and brighter clothes, the season change is an impetus for adding a retina-burning dose of color above the neck. If you so dare, consider having a go at yellow eyeshadow, a bold and invigorating statement that’s easier to pull off than you think. For one, due to its likeness to sunshine, yellow is hailed as the most energizing shade among the warm colors according to color theorists. After weathering a long winter lockdown, who couldn’t use the extra boost? What’s more, it’s also an unexpected favorite among pro makeup artists such as Emily Cheng, who recently gave client Yara Shahidi a set of lemony-lime lids to match her draped knit top of the same shade....

Pristine White Bags Are The Polished Arm Candy Of The Moment (VOGUE)

VOG715
Classic black and brown will always be the most timeless—and practical—handbag shades, but pristine white bags are on the rise. After arm candy’s 2020 hiatus, A-listers are pulling out all the stops with accessories that command attention. It takes a fearless (and carefree) attitude to carry a white bag. Like wearing light jeans, a Wite-Out-colored purse can have its downfalls: upkeep is tricky and the shelf-life is inevitably shorter (unless you call upon a specialist to repair your cherished goods). But for some, the pros outweigh the cons. White bags can elevate any outfit and offer an eye-catching, contemporary element to looks. Hailey Bieber swears by colorful Bottega Veneta Pouches, but has recently dabbled in the white bag trend. Saint Laurent’s “blanc vintage” Le 5 à...

MEGAN THEE STALLION (AND HER DOG) MODEL COACH’S BAPE COLLABORATION (NYLON)

NY715
Coach and Bape are back at it again. The New York brand and Japanese streetwear label are set to release their second collection together, and they have a celeb-filled campaign to help show off the new pieces. Photographed by Sandy Kim, who has recently worked with Skims and The New York Times, the new Coach campaign stars rappers Megan Thee Stallion and Cordae. Japanese model and songwriter Kōki also makes a return, as she was featured in the collaboration’s debut campaign in February 2020. Bape (short for A Bathing Ape) has been around since the early ‘90s, and its coveted star-logo kicks were a hot commodity among sneakerheads back in the early aughts. Naturally, the Y2K-era brand is garnering more attention among Gen Z...

Amazon Shoppers Swear by This $9 Drugstore Foundation for a Full-Coverage Look That “Doesn’t Melt in The Heat” (InStyle)

is7133
Finding a great foundation to get you through the scorching summer months is a universal struggle for many. Though lightweight foundations tend to work well in the heat, those who crave a full-coverage look may gaze upon the dog days of summer with a twinge of disdain. Beyond worrying about your foundation melting off your face by the end of the night, it's hard to convince yourself to invest in a pricier formula that may no longer match your complexion once a summer tan begins to fade. But Amazon shoppers may have found the affordable antidote to your full-coverage foundation woes. Milani's Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation Concealer is a fan-favorite drugstore formula that costs just $9, but don't let the low price fool you. Its...

Bella Hadid Went Fully ’70s in an Ab-Baring Halter Top and Bell-Bottom Jeans (InStyle)

is713
Bella Hadid is, by all accounts, having a very good week. Go Instagram official with your boyfriend while channeling Cher Horowitz? Check. Make necklaces as tops a thing? Check. Make Stevie Nicks proud on a yacht in the South of France? Check.  The 24-year-old model shared a series of snapshots from her time abroad (and aboard) on Instagram, showcasing a delightfully '70s outfit consisting of a bright multi-colored ab-baring high-low halter top and glittery dark-wash bell-bottom jeans with a brown fade effect at the bottom of each leg. Hadid wore her dark hair in a ponytail and accessorized with large gold hoops and bangles as well as a beaded body chain. NYLON FIT PICKS: RIHANNA & A$AP ROCKY’S COUPLE STYLE, NAOMI OSAKA IN LOUIS VUITTON, & MORE CELEBRITY LOOKS (NYLON)

NY713
It’s the summer of celebrity couples this year and Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are leading the charge. The two music and fashion moguls, who went from flirty friends in 2012 to publicly official duo in 2021, have been spotted all over New York City recently. Over the weekend, they were seen on set filming a music video and their outfits were definitely not fit for the humid summer weather. Instead, we’re taking inspiration from their layered looks for our fall aesthetic. Rihanna, styled by her longtime creative director Jahleel Weaver, wore a floor-length shearling coat with a corset top (vintage Dolce & Gabbana from Spring 2005) and baggy brown pants. For accessories, she wore a printed silk headscarf, gold jewelry, and a...
