Spoiler alert: she looks amazing
Slouchy suede boots and coin-covered belts are due for a comeback.
The title ‘beauty icon’ is bestowed upon famous faces with mere casual consideration these days, but if anyone deserves the crown it’s the enigmatic Kate Moss.
While the world has witnessed her endless guises as a model, Moss is known for revealing little of her personal life – including that of her beauty regime. But now she’s partnered with prestige skincare and cosmetics brand Decorte, the super has shared some of her secrets.
Currently serving as global brand ambassador for the Japanese beauty brand, Moss was an instant fan, having said she can “really see a difference” in her skin since using the products. Below she reveals more to us about her streamlined beauty routine and quick-fix skin tricks.
What does Kate Moss know that we don't?
At London Fashion Week, one fact is as constant as a well-tailored trench coat: the Burberry show will always go viral. But even though Cara Delevingne and Naomi Campbell were broadcasting live from their phones—and the September 2017 collection went straight from the runway to Burberry.com's sales pages—some show secrets still remained cinched tight.
Kate Moss's ascent to supermodel stardom began in 1993 with Calvin Klein Obsession, a fragrance that traffics in the singular feeling of infatuation. Rather than replicate young romance in a studio, Klein sent an 18-year-old Moss and then boyfriend, 20-year-old photographer Mario Sorrenti, to Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands for 10 days. The couple returned from their trip with hundreds of black and white images, the making of one of Calvin Klein's most iconic campaigns to date.
It will be available exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue later this month.
Supermodel Kate Moss has fronted about as many beauty campaigns as you'd imagine—self-tanners, skincare, haircare, you name it. She even launched a line of best-selling drugstore lipsticks for Rimmel London. But now Moss has teamed up with the super-luxe Japanese beauty brand Decorté, which is making its debut in North America at Saks Fifth Avenue, to launch a makeup palette of her must-have lip, eye, and brow products.
Designer Miuccia Prada turned to photographer Alasdair McLellan for Miu Miu’s new fall/winter 2017 campaign, casting Naomie Harris, Kate Moss, and a renowned New Orleans jazz band that has performed for over 50 years.
McLellan’s scenic shots follow models throughout New Orleans, from a wooden boat in the Mississippi bayou to the historic venue where the Preservation Hall Jazz Band performs. Harris and Moss posed for glamour shots wearing oversized faux-fur coats, crystal headpieces, and feathered dresses from the collection. Other models danced with the band, including Adwoa Aboah, Kesewa Aboah, Jean Campbell, Eliza Cummings, Jasmine Daniels, Rose Daniels, Lily Nova, and Missy Rayder.
The campaign launches in August. See McLellan’s collaged spreads for a preview in the slideshow ahead.
You’d be hard pressed to find a longer reigning footwear trend than gladiator sandals. Not only do they conjure up visions of Greek goddesses and the Roman Empire, but they take us back to original bohemian bombshells à la Pattie Boyd dancing through the summer of love—or more recently, the Insta babes of Coachella rocking bold styles strapped from their ankles to their knees. Karl Lagerfeld featured gladiators in Chanel's latest Cruise show, and Rihanna rocked a killer pair with her most-Instagrammed Met Ball look, putting these classic sandals back in the spotlight again.
