Brilliant Images Of Celebrities In Looks You Wish They’d Wear

1510336502252-dressup4

"Fantasy Dress Up" is an Instagram-turned-magazine documenting the best red carpet looks that never happened (including Hillary Clinton in a pink Louis Vuitton pantsuit).

Kendall and Kylie Jenner: burgundy knit slip dresses from Céline’s pre-fall 15 collection. Britney Spears: shredded denim courtesy of Marques’Almeida spring/summer 12. Helen Mirren as a mossy Marni burlap vision. These award-worthy looks never made it to any best-dressed lists inPeople or US Weekly, because they never actually hit the red carpet. But Richie Talboy and Lucas Lefler, creators of the popular Instagram (since 2014) and now magazine, Fantasy Dress Up, are creating a world in which celebrities have no branding contracts and tremendous sartorial backbone. “In our age, everyone wants a genuine, unique moment to share on social media,”...

Rita Ora Wore A Bathrobe And Towel On The Red Carpet

Getty

With diamond jewelry, of course.

You know that feeling of dread when you're so relaxed post-shower but need to get ready to go out? Well Rita Ora, unexpected pioneer of our time, discovered a solution to this problem over the weekend.
Becoming the official poster child for anyone who's ever not wanted to go to work, Ora showed up to her hosting gig at the MTV EMAs in London wearing a floor-length bathrobe, terry cloth towel wrapped on her head, and diamond jewelry. The look, as it turns out, was not from the singer's hotel room but actually straight off the runway from Palomo Spain's Spring 2018 collection.

This Rebel-Rousing Model Updated The Exposed Thong Trend For The Red Carpet

GettyImages
Slick Woods has had quite a year, whether it's appearing as one of the faces for Rihanna's Fenty Beauty line or modeling in Marc Jacobs's Fall 2017 campaign. On top of that, she was shot by Tim Walker for the 2018 edition of Pirelli's infamous calendar, and last night, as she celebrated its launch, she used a red carpet trick that gave Kendall Jenner a run for her money. Woods appeared in a see-through gown that, while providing strategic cover-up in the front with a wavy string of maribou feathers, bared almost all in the back--except for the model's black high-waisted thong. This follows the recent reappearance of exposed thongs on the red carpet and off: Most famously, Jenner wore a bejeweled see-through gown for this year's Met Gala, featuring...

Dear Evan Hansen Star Laura Dreyfuss’s Tonys Day Diary, From The Matinee Stage To The Red Carpet

01laura-d-tonys-diary
For Laura Dreyfuss, this past Sunday was anything but lazy. Yesterday, the actress rushed from delivering the matinee performance of Dear Evan Hansen—a musical about a socially awkward teen whose little white lie snowballs into a social media scandal—to the Tonys red carpet at Radio City Music Hall, where the play won the award for Best Musical. Dear Evan Hansen has received rave reviews, as has Dreyfuss’s portrayal of Zoe Murphy, the sister of a classmate of the titular character whose death sparks the show’s dramatic, uniquely contemporary chain of events. Dreyfuss, who also starred in the musical Once and the last season of television show Glee, stunned last night in a black Marchesa gown adorned with baby pink flowers. Here,...

How To Create a Red Carpet-Worthy Smoky Eye

landscape-1466108785-mc-061616-katemara

The smoky eye look sported by stars en route to galas and events is a nighttime favorite for dressing up your eyes. And while all the smudging and blending may not be simple enough to perform blindfolded (not to mention achieving the right wing shape), we sought out a beauty expert to guide us along the path to smoldering, smoky eye perfection.

he biggest smoky eye no-no is staying away from blue hues—which can make you look like you have under-eye circles—says Giorgio Armani makeup artist André Maurice. Instead, go for black, gray, brown, or—if you want "color"—dark green shadows and liners. Below, he shares five easy steps for recreating a gorgeous smoky eye on your own:

Why Fashion’s Most Influential Brand Never Shows Up On The Red Carpet

image
Designer Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons is like the sun: life-giving and nurturing, but too intense for most people to look at directly without some sort of filter. Let me explain what that means by listing some of my favorite pieces of hers: I call this dress from her spring ’97 collection “The Working Girl Shift For Smuggling A One-Legged Ghost.” Along with a crinkling, funnel neckline and cute cap sleeves, the dress also prominently features a large, leg-shaped lump along the hip. This is “Giant Shorts for Average People”: an all-white look from the ’95 collection that’s basically one massive pair of tweedy hot pants you wear by putting both feet inside one leg. And here is the...

hbz-chihuahua-met-gala-fashion-1493651710

As celebrities and fashion insiders prepare for one of the biggest red carpets of the year tonight, an unsuspecting source has already set the bar high for this year's Met Gal a honoring Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo .
Pet couturier (yes, that is a thing) Anthony Rubio recreated three of Kawakubo's iconic designs for Comme des Garcons in tiny dog versions for two chihuahuas who just became the breakout stars of the Met Gala. Despite not actually walking the red carpet, the pups really mastered the avant garde theme for the night.

paris-j

Between her killer Grammys look, her recent modeling contract with Gigi Hadid’s agency, and her newly elevated social circle (which just so happens to include Kendall Jenner), Paris Jackson’s fashion star is undoubtedly on the rise.

Commanding both the red carpet and the stage, the 18-year-old wowed in a colorful Yanina Couture sheer and peacock patterned gown, complete with a gray tulle cape.

Alexa Chung’s Latest Red Carpet Look Is Perfect Summer Wedding Inspo

holding-alexa-chung-celebrity-style
Alexa Chung sure knows how to keep things interesting in her wardrobe. It was only last week that we saw her palling around New York’s Lower East Side with boyfriend Alexander Skarsgård in an Edie Sedgwick–inspired leopard coat and skinny jeans. Now that Chung has hopped across the pond, she traded in that feline print for another classic pattern: the polka dot. Arriving to the National Portrait Gallery fundraising gala in London on the arm of designer Erdem Moralioglu, Chung hit a neo-bridal note taking an Old World silhouette into modern-day fairy-tale territory. Chung rubbed elbows with British royals, including the Duchess of Cambridge, in an off-the-shoulder Loewe design that came covered in a micro-dot motif. There were ruffles and bows...
