5 Bags We’d Follow Into An X-ray Machine

1200x600 (3)

In what might just be the greatest news story of 2018, a Chinese woman was so concerned about the possibility of her bag being stolen that she rode with it on the security conveyer belt, through the x-ray machine in a busy train station.

She was captured on the x-ray screen on all fours, wearing high heels (and honestly, same). If you've been following New York Fashion Week, you'll know there were some truly stellar accessories on the runway, and multiple purses worth sacrificing your safety for.

From Oscar de la Renta to Tom Ford, we compiled a list of our favorite Fall '18 handbags we'd worth risking life, limb, or permanently impaired vision for.

This Downtown Label Cast Actual Dogs In Its New York Fashion Week Show

00-story-gauntlett-cheng
New York label Gauntlett Cheng’s designs have always encapsulated a certain homespun unconventionality. Esther Gauntlett and Jenny Cheng’s brand, one of the shining lights of the city’s fashion underground, consistently employs friends and relatives in various ways, from showing in a friend’s RV to enlisting Gauntlett’s mom to aid in all of the technical handiwork. And this season, they’ve extended their world to include man’s best friend as well: At their runway show at St. Mark’s Church this past weekend, they sent eight dogs down the runway in pint-size Gauntlett Cheng creations alongside their owners, all of whom are friends of the two designers. The idea to create canine clothes came, naturally, from a member of Cheng’s family. “My sister has an Italian greyhound...

Moon Boots Are Back At Jeremy Scott

jeremy-scott-rf18-0344-1518199689

Nothing can upstage Gigi Hadid on the catwalk, but Thursday night at Jeremy Scott, 17 pairs of boots came close.
They were "skyscrapers," in Scott's words—metallic and furry Moon Boots that reached to the models' thighs. They came in prints and in puffs, with shorter gold and neon versions made for the guys. (Though we bet many women will snag those, too.)

The collaboration comes in the wake of a comfort shoe revival: Crocs are now A Thing for Balenciaga and Christopher Kane, Jellies hit the Alberta Ferretti runway, Birkenstocks became fuck-me shoes, and thigh-high Uggs happened at Y-Project. Scott had his own Ugg line last summer, which was equally killer.

Sies Marjan showed lots of kill-for-it clothes, including a holographic trench coat that seems destined for Hollywood’s cool kids. But maybe the brand's most arresting look (in a good way) was when Korean model EZ came through with pink hair, a pink coat, a pink skirt, a pink bag,...

Clueless Inspo, Whoopi’s Vagina Jacket And Everything Else That Happened On Day 2 Of NYFW

gettyimages-916225296-1518234738

On Day Two of New York Fashion Week, the cult of puffy coats is taking shape. (We’ve spotted them on twelve runways, and it’s only Friday.) Outside, models huddle together and light cigarettes. And packed tight in our DMs, a series of serious questions began to appear. Super serious. Let’s explore.

Are Coats Now Dresses?

If Bella Hadid wears something, the world follows. So let’s see what happens after her turn on Friday’s Jason Wu catwalk, where the bombshell wore an embellished navy blue cocoon coat as if it were a red carpet look. For those who are always freezing at parties, it’s a rather genius idea…

Models Ate Flamin’ Hot Cheetos While Walking The Runway At Chromat

hbz-chromat-cheetos-index-1518298968

As the Fall 2018 collections make their debut at New York Fashion Week, there's sure to be plenty of statement-making accessories hitting the runways—from boots to "Pussy Power" bags and beyond.
But at Chromat's Fall 2018 show, the most unexpected accessory in perhaps all of NYFW history hit the runway: Flamin' Hot Cheetos. Yes, Flamin' Hot Cheetos, the signature snack of Britney Jean Spears.
Redefining the art of pockets, a model walking the show used the bungee cord detailing on a pair of pants to hold a bag of Cheetos as she walked—and snacked—down the runway, as one of course does.
