Kylie Jenner Just Secretly Announced A New Kylie Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palette

Kylie Jenner has built a near-billion dollar makeup empire in just a few short years. In that time, we've come to expect a familiar formula from the makeup mogul: every new product drop gets teased for a few days, revealed on Snapchat, and then swatched by Jenner herself. But the new Kylie Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palette called Blue Honey marks the first time Jenner, who is reportedly pregnant with her first child, hasn't teased or promoted the product on her personal Instagram or Snapchat account.

Wow 😍🍯 Welcome Blue Honey.. Launching January 23rd at 3pm pst only on!

The Original Inventor Of The Smoky Eye Is Here To Tell You How To Do It Right

Let the official beauty record stand: Makeup artist Linda Cantello is the inventor of the smoky eye. Since creating the look with Tom Ford during his Gucci days, Cantello has worked with Irving Penn and Richard Avedon. She is now Armani Beauty’s international makeup artist and has a hand in creating formulas with the brand. Below, she talks to the Cut about how to do a smoky eye, Instagram beauty, and Hillary Clinton. So you’re the original creator of the smoky eye. It’s true! I always tell my family that will be on my grave. How did you invent it? It was the second show Tom Ford did for Gucci in the ’90s. We had decided that we wanted a messed-up, Julie Christie–ish look. Up until that point, the...

Anastasia Beverly Hills Is Launching Its First Collection Of Powder Bronzers

No beauty collection is complete without Anastasia Beverly Hills' highlighter "glow kits" and brow kits (heck, even Oprah is a longtime fan). Now, the cult-favorite brand is looking to dominate in a new category: bronzers. While ABH already offers options within its best-selling contour kits, this is the first time it's creating individual powder bronzers. Even better: ABH created six shades aiming to cover a more inclusive range of skin tones. Bronzers are miracle-workers. They can sculpt and frame your face, warm up the skin, even out tone, and make it look overall healthier and dimensional. However, folks with medium to deep skin tones are notoriously excluded in the bronzer market—it's not uncommon for them to appear too chalky or grey when applied. Other times, the darkest hue of...

6 Beauty Brands With “Nude” Lipstick Shades For All Skintones

We'll say it over and over again: "nude" is not a color. But, it is a term widely (erroneously) used in the beauty industry to describe a neutral, skin-toned makeup shade. Lipsticks described as "nude" often have a pink, peach, or beige hue but, of course, this is not an accurate representation for people with deeper skin tones. At least campaigns like the artist-led Nude Against Nude, Cover FX's recent #NudeIsNotBeige, and continuous calls for change from YouTube vloggers like Jackie Aina have exposed the problem loudly and clearly. Thankfully, more beauty brands have started stepping up to the plate. It's now easier than ever to find more inclusive options for everyone to achieve that once-elusive your-lips-but-better finish. Ahead, find the companies that have got...

Gal Gadot Is The New Face Of Revlon

Actress, wife, mother, IRL Wonder Woman Gal Gadot can add one more exciting announcement to her blockbuster year: she's the new face of Revlon.

So happy to announce that I’ve joined the @Revlon family and am helping launch the #LiveBoldly campaign. Stay tuned…it’s going to be beautiful!
Gal Gadot(@gal_gadot)님의 공유 게시물님, 2018 1월 9 8:30오전 PST

The Israeli actress and model stars in a new international campaign for the brand called Live Boldly—a departure from the love-centered campaigns of the last several years. For Gadot, makeup goes hand-in-hand with the feminist cultural shift. “Anything that makes you feel more confident more beautiful and better about yourself has to do with [feminism],” she told WWD. “There’s a big misinterpretation about the way that...

Emily Ratajkowski Proves Why The Best Golden Globes Makeup Happens At The After-Party

Last night's 2018 Golden Globe Awards showcased beauty notes designed to make a statement against the evening's all-black dress code, from the ubiquitous red lip to a sprinkle of emerald baubles, the latter of which paid homage to the Suffragist movement. For Emily Ratajkowski, a well-selected wash of striking color could be found at eye level, her almond gaze encased in a graphic pressing of watermelon shadow. Makeup artist Hung Vanngo opted to turn the evening's collective lean toward carmine on its head, daubing Ratajkowski's pout with a shimmery pink nude that kept the focus on her high-impact eyes. Her power brow and swirls of apricot blush served as requisite signatures, while eyeshadow extended artfully away from the outer corners to Pop art effect. This isn't the...

The 5 Makeup Trends That You’re About To See Everywhere

In 2017, we said goodbye to the Instagram eyebrow, highlighter that can direct airport traffic, and the harsh contouring that flooded our feeds for the last 365 days. Now it's all about the future of beauty and what 2018 holds. We asked celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta, who works with Emily Ratajkowski, Bella Hadid, Camila Cabello, to predict the five biggest beauty trends for the new year. Spoiler: Lip gloss is back and it's poppin'. (It's poppin'.)

Purple Rain

Ultra Violet is the color of the year according to Pantone, and Ta also predicts it will be huge for 2018. "Be prepared to see a boom of violet everywhere," says Ta. "Especially pretty on eye’s inner corners." If you're...

Makeup Star Mila Victoria Is Putting Her Best Face Forward

For most of us, the annual responsibility of refreshing your New Year's outlook is intimidating. For Toronto's leading makeup artist Mila Victoria, there was no other option but to confront uncertainty head on. It wasn't long before "Makeup by Mila" became a phrase used by all of Toronto and now, with a flourishing YouTube following of nearly 100,000, an impressive resumé that features The Weeknd and Grimes, Victoria is exactly where she should be: in the spotlight.

Jeremy Scott Is Dropping A Makeup Collection With MAC

Moschino designer Jeremy Scott is teaming up with MAC Cosmetics for a collection of limited edition makeup housed in the ultimate throwback packaging. Scott broke the news on Instagram today, sharing that he designed "a boombox shaped eyeshadow palette consisting of 29 shades, a lip palette shaped like a tape cassette with a mirror, and a lil something for the cheeks in the form of a CD!"

Considering Moschino and Jeremy Scott's namesake shows always bring major beauty moments on the runway (rhinestones, false lashes), it's no surprise that Scott's first beauty drop would favor the brighter side of beauty. Inside the Boombox shadow palette are 29 bold shades—ranging from stark white to ultra violet. But in...
