Balenciaga Is Merging their Men’s And Women’s Collections

The times are changing at Balenciaga.

Balenciaga is the latest fashion house to join the recent trend of brands moving to dual-gender runway shows, taking the plunge like Burberry, Calvin Klein, Gucci, and Kenzo. Today, the Paris-based brand and creative director Demna Gvasalia announced that going forward, their men's and women's collections will be shown on the runway together, rather than appearing separately in men's and women's fashion month. The change will go into effect starting with the forthcoming Autumn/Winter 2018 line during Paris Fashion Week next March. And in addition to the combination of their lines, Balenciaga will also see an expansion for their men's fashions, which was only recently relaunched in June 2016, as they are set to debut a...

Kenzo Casts 83 Asian Models For Its Spring 2018 Show

Inspired by Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto and model Sayoko Yamaguchi, Kenzo showed its men's and women's spring 2018 collections in Paris last night featuring a cast comprised exclusively of models of Asian descent.

"We celebrate two muses, one who represents the modern view of the house and one from its past," designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon wrote in the show notes of the inspirations. "For both collections we aim to capture the duality of the two figures, we look to the era when they both ruled two distant continents; to Ryuichi's personal flair when questioning the norm, and to Sayoko's ability to mix patterns, prints, silhouettes, and colors."

KENZO’s Visual Feast for the Eyes

KENZO Folio is a new quarterly publication showcasing the brand’s collections in a fresh and unexpected way through the eyes of young creatives. The first issue sees the label commission curator and filmmaker Akinola Davies Jr. to create a project related to the theme of “ceremony”. Davies Jr. teamed up with photographer Ruth Ossai and stylist Ibrahim Kamara to create a visual exploration of Nigeria’s Nsukka population. The images feature pieces from KENZO SS17 combined and heavily accessorised to celebrate the culture of Nigerian and indigenous Igbo people.

The images capture the energy and style of Nsukka and we are totally obsessed. Have a look through the beautiful series below.

How Bazaar Editors Wear Kenzo x H&M

While BAZAAR girls tend toward the idea that black is the new black when it comes to daily style, sometimes all it takes is a hit of color and print to nudge us out of our comfort zones. Enter: Kenzo's collaboration with H&M. There are zebra prints and tiger faces, patch work details and something we're calling a "kibomber." See how four editors style the collection for themselves before it hits and H&M stores on November 3—and see the full Jean Paul Goude-shot lookbook.

Kerry Pieri, Digital Fashion/Features Director

"The bomber continues its reign as the coolest jacket to buy right now. Print isn't something I normally go for in a jacket, but it's so cozy and instantly...

These Kenzo Beauty Looks From 1998 Are the Prettiest Halloween Inspiration Ever

If the vibrant makeup at Kenzo this season—rouged temples, fire-engine red lips—was one of the defining looks of Spring 2017, it also reflected the history of the house. Founder Kenzo Takada, a Japanese-born designer who moved to Paris, showed his first collection in 1970, and quickly became known for his mash-up of ethnic influences—and above all, his love of color. (It’s no surprise that the retired designer is now an artist.) The techniques on view for Spring referenced those seen in some of the archival Polaroids taken by legendary fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez, which Humberto Leon and Carol Lim used as prints in the collection, as well as Takada’s Spring 1982 show. In advance of the hotly anticipated Kenzo x H&Mcollection...

Jean Paul Goude Shoots KENZO X H&M

Jean Paul Goude has debuted the first visuals for the upcoming Kenzo X H&M collab, featuring Chance The Rapper and Global Brand Ambassadors supermodel Iman and Vietnamese rapper Suboi. Their choice of model seems to a hint of social commentary running alongside the collection itself as a series of videos with the three reveal, such as Suboi below discussing her own individuality within the industry. The stage of one of the most anticipated collaborations of the year has been set for fashion and activism to intertwine. The campaign itself, as to be expected from Kenzo, is a burst of colour and movement showcasing the lively patterns and bold shapes that have been taken straight from the runway and into H&M’s affordable form....

Kenzo x H&M’s Campaign Will Star Iman and Chloë Sevigny

The Kenzo x H&M campaign, sure to be a Technicolor-print powerhouse, is shot by Jean-Paul Goude and features a stacked lineup of models. Ready? Iman, Rosario Dawson, Chance the Rapper, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Chloë Sevigny, Suboi, and Xiuhtezcatl Martinez. The campaign is inspired by previous work by the photographer from the ‘70s. Kenzo’s creative directors, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, said of Goude in a press release, “his images for Kenzo x H&M are incredible, and capture the personality, positivity and freedom of the collection.” From the looks of the video, that means mixed prints, animal motifs, and fuzzy sweaters — often all together. The campaign will debut on October 17, and the collection will launch in select H&M stores and online on...

Kenzo x H&M: Your First Look at Fall’s Most Anticipated Collab

With just over three months to go until Kenzo’s collaboration with H&M drops in stores, the brand has released the first three images from the lookbook—and from the looks of things, fans should look forward to color, prints, and a whole lot of personality. The images, shared first with, star activist (and Instagram must-follow) Amy Sall of “SUNU: Journal of African Affairs, Critical Thought + Aesthetics”, poet-artist Juliana Huxtable, artist and performer Oko Ebombo, and makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench—all friends and muses to Kenzo designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon. All four wear head-to-toe tiger stripes, a print based on an archival design by founder Kenzo Takada, a nod to the brand’s 50th anniversary. “We’ve kept Kenzo Takada close to our...

H&M Announces Its Next Designer Collaboration

H&M has confirmed that its next designer collaboration will be with French fashion house Kenzo.
