These Fendi Flats Would Go Nicely With Oysters And Champagne

30-Finer-Things.nocrop.w1210.h2147483647

Finer Things is a photo series that takes a playful approach to the elusive, glamorous fashion items we’re fixated on right now.
These festive Fendi flats are the sort of shoe that warrant a preemptive purchase for the busy summer social calendar. A slingback stylecrafted from smooth calfskin leather, they’re adorned with rows of faux pearls that start on top of the foot and trail upward toward the toes, creating an effect that is embellished but not gaudy. In graphic black-and-white, they can skew black-tie as easily as they can be worn with a cropped jean or an easy spring dress.

Come Fly With Me – Fendi Creates Fake Airport For AW18 Menswear Show

Backstage at Fendi Menswear AW18Photography Arnaud Lafeuillade

Complete with a conveyor belt with Fendi-fied luggage, the collection featured a collaboration with IG artist @hey_reilly

“Coding, decoding, recoding”: The past and the present met today at Fendi, both in terms of the archival colours and pieces Silvia Venturini Fendi had looked at and brought completely up to date with her innate ability to splice vintage-odd with the now, but also how glamorous mid-century travel collided with today’s industrial get-from-A-to-B-as-painlessly-as-possible mentality. Fendi’s airport definitely pushed stress-free travel. “Yes, yes, which is what it was meant to,” Venturini Fendi said. Here’s what went down at the show. THE VENUE WAS TRANSFORMED INTO AN AIRPORT We were at the Fendi terminal, in a time warp mashup somewhere between the 60s and now. At...

Seven Ways To Wear Fluff, Fuzz And Hair This Winter

Agata Belcen and Nell Kalonji demonstrate how to pull off the hairiest of trends this season, photographed by Jackie Nickerson for AnOther Magazine A/W17

Add texture to your winter look in two shakes of a lamb’s tail by throwing on a coat, hat or scarf made from shearling, faux fur or goat hair this season. It was seen aplenty on the runways of A/W17, with the likes of Mrs Prada presenting her Miu Miu collection – heavily laden with bulbous, fluffy silhouettes – against the backdrop of a fuzzy purple runway. Here,...

Logomania, The 1990s Trend That’s Returned With A Vengeance

Ribbed wool dress, metal and cardboard chain belt, and necklace by Moschino. Photography by Tim Elkaïm, Styling by Chloe Grace Press

As demonstrated by the A/W17 collections, branding is back to assert its place in our wardrobes

The logomania trend, whilst rooted in the excess of the 1980s, truly came into its own during the following decade, as a sartorial response to the US economic boom of the 1990s. Whilst branding initially found its place in fashion as a mechanism to denote prosperity and status, it soon became an aesthetic trope in itself, with Calvin Klein, Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior logos emblazoned on It bags, splashed across sweaters and seductively printed on underwear. Post-recession, the desire to wear labels in such a blatant manner waned, and a quiet minimalism began to dominate the runways. This season, however, the logo returned with a vengeance...

Karl Lagerfeld On The Key To Success

hbz-karl-lagerfeld-murakami-embed-1508869651
I love Murakami’s octopus character, Taco 7, because it’s just so funny. Although I’ve never actually met Takashi, I think he’s a wonderful artist. And if he’s anything like what he expresses in his art, I’m sure we would get along. But am I like his octopus that eats its own leg in order to survive? In some ways, I guess. I have survived in the world pretty well, but that is mostly because I’m lucky. I have lifelong contracts at two billion-dollar companies, Fendi and Chanel, which gives me a level of freedom that—let’s be honest—nobody else in fashion really has. So I don’t have any sort of feeling that I need to survive; I don’t feel like life is a struggle.And...

Watch the Trailer for Fendi’s New Marie Antoinette-Inspired Featurette

In-Text-Photo-25
Fendi has released a teaser for its upcoming featurette Girl’s Secret, starring French actress Sigrid Bouaziz. The film takes a look at the brand’s SS17 and Pre-Fall collections through the lens of Parisian director Rebecca Zlotowski, who depicts a contemporary version of Marie Antoinette on a night out with friends. The Italian fashion house’s SS17 collection was largely inspired by the infamous Queen of France, and the Petit Trianon (one of the her favourite places in the grounds of Versailles). Comprising the cast and crew for this short film is a group of seriously talented women. For starters, you might recognise leading lady Bouaziz from her role as Lara in Personal Shopper, the 2016 winner of Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival. Additionally, Zlotowski is the woman...

“Cool girl hair,” declared Sam McKnight, as he tightly wound Bella Hadid’s dark strands around a pair of tongs. The backstage hairstylist was summarizing the look at Fendi this morning, where Karl Lagerfeld hoped to summon a breath of fresh air for the Italian house by way of a diverse cast of young faces. That meant a serious embrace of natural texture and personal style—see the curls coaxed outward and upward on Selena Forrest and Imaan Hammam, or Manuela Sanchez’s neatly clipped Afro. Sohyun Jung and Nina Milner wore their newish boy cuts enhanced with a cloud of McKnight’s forthcoming texturizing spray; appropriately called Cool...

Bella Hadid Models for Karl Lagerfeld’s Spring 2017 Fendi Campaign

s
Bella Hadid has walked in the exclusive Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. She's walked the runway for nearly every major high-end fashion brand (and even picked herself back up from a fall flawlessly). She was the 2016 Model of the Year, and she's even served as a judge for a modeling competition. And now, Bella is kicking off her 2017 with something major: a Fendi campaign shot by Karl Lagerfeld. Bella shared the first look at the model milestone today on her Instagram. "@fendi s/s 17 campaign shot by the one and only @karllagerfeld!," she wrote in the caption, "What a dream come true to start off the new year!" Seriously, New Year's goals don't get more aspirational than this. In one photo,...
