Edie Campbell Writes Open Letter About The Abuse Of Fashion Models

Edie Campbell has penned a powerful public letter addressing the ill treatment of fashion models and urging the industry to put an end to systematic abuse and negligence. The model—who has starred in campaigns for Burberry, Marc Jacobs, and Louis Vuitton—voiced her frustration at how recent media coverage on the issue seems to only address abuse claims concerning Terry Richardson, when in reality it goes far beyond one man. In the wake of the Harvey Weinstein allegations, model Cameron Russell shared a number of horrifying stories that she’d heard about within the world of fashion. She used Instagram to share screenshots of messages sent to her by friends, colleagues and followers detailing the abuse they have received. “Since Cameron Russell enlisted the help of many fashion people...

Versace for President

What with the lack of pantsuits and tailored separates, Hillary Clinton perhaps isn't your natural Versace girl. But if Madam Secretary needed a pep talk before the first presidential debate between her and Donald Trump on Monday, Donatella served it up for her in her spring/summer 17 show. It continued last season's female empowerment theme in a Ladytron-esque spoken soundtrack by Violet + Photonz, calling for women to "take the leap - our past is behind us". Versace's clothes are empowering by default, in that glamour sexpot way Gianni distilled from the Italian power women he and Donatella grew up with, a femininity Donatella both embodies and draws on in her own work for Versace. Should Fringe Fall Over or Under Your Sunglasses?

Bangs are an alluring adornment, but sometimes they get in the way—especially when it comes to eyewear, as model Edie Campbell noted the other day on Instagram. “Real talk is your fringe meant to go inside or outside your glasses????” she asked her followers alongside a clip of her bangs going behind and over her sunglasses. Plenty of comments ensued, some taking the over-the-sunnies side, others vouching for the beneath-the-lens look. As it turns out, the question is a hot IRL topic, too. “I deal with this not only with sunglasses, but eyeglasses (legally blind!) every day,” says Vogue Beauty Assistant Arden Fanning. “I’m a constant hair rumpler, so I keep mine sideswept on top of the...
