Dior Celebrates Its Mystical Past And Present With Tarot-Themed Pop-Up Stores

No one knows what the future holds, but that hasn’t stopped us from trying to find out. From astrology to palm reading to fortune telling, we’re fascinated by the mystic arts that give us clarity about where we came from, and perhaps hint at where we’re going.
The fashion industry has been all about it, and the house of Christian Dior is particularly steeped in the history of the occult. Monsieur Dior himself was deeply interested in astrology—a theme current Artistic Director Maria Grazia Chiuri has explored by incorporating mystical symbolism into her designs.

Her recent Resort '18 collection was inspired by Motherpeace Tarot, a deck designed by Karen Vogel and Vicki Noble in the 1970s. “The Tarots of...

5 Monochromatic Looks To Steal This Season

While it’s true that a power suit or the perfect pair of jeans can change your life, occasionally it’s an accessory that makes the biggest impact. Case in point: a colorful watch. A classic timepiece may conjure up images of black bands and silver faces, but fashion’s current love affair with bold prints and dynamic hues has paved the way for a fresh approach. We took inspiration from candy-colored timepieces to create five fresh monochrome moments.

Whether it’s a trench or a traditional swing silhouette, a caramel coat combines function and fashion. Look for styles with oversized sleeves, or belt it to make it a dress. Gold additions, like this braided, yellow gold threaded watch, add a...

Who has the biggest Instagram following in fashion?

A new report has revealed the top brands and models

Following last week’s list of the top paid models in the industry, a new report has been released that charts the best performing brands and models on Instagram. Unsurprisingly, as 2017’s highest-paid model, Kendall Jenner also tops the most followed model list – as well as having the most liked photo. Alongside Jenner is Gisele Bündchen and the Hadids – who all also appeared in last week’s top 10. Much like the biggest earners, there is a clear lack of diversity when it comes to the most followed names, as well as those who have gained the most followers this year. When it comes to the models with the most engaged followers though, diversity does come through with Mayowa...

Jennifer Lawrence Brings Weekend Polish To The Combat Boot

Photo: Splash News
Jennifer Lawrence spent Thanksgiving weekend in New York City, where she took advantage of the warmer-than-average weather with her dog, Pippi. Spotted yesterday on city streets, Lawrence, the face of Dior, sported an ensemble inspired by the brand’s California-themed Resort collection, bringing a soigné polish to a low-key look. However, the Oscar-winning actress used the combat boot, a 1980s steampunk favorite, to ground her ensemble. Versions from Chanel and Dr. Martens have been popping up on directional dressers including Blake Lively and Gigi Hadid, but Lawrence’s pair served to elevate her off-duty staples. A cozy cardigan-coat in cream anchored her look with a light note, while a tonally-coordinated scarf and hat combated the winter chill while providing stylish protection from photographers. Instead of...

Jasmine Sanders Stars In The New Dior Love Chain Video

Golden Barbie and Dior are teaming up for charity.

Whether you know her as Golden Barbie or Jasmine Sanders, the model and Pat McGrath makeup muse has a brand-new campaign with Dior. In the video for the social movement #DiorLoveChain, Sanders answers the question "what would you do for love?" with "I would move anywhere in the world." Solid answer.

The model joins other familiar faces like Ruth Bell, Sasha Pivovarova, and Alice Isaaz in the latest video. Past participants included Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattison—but you can be a participant too. Share your own answer to "what would you do for love?" on Instagram, Twitter, or Weibo with the hashtag #DiorLoveChain and Dior Parfums, together with the face of Miss...

Paris Gets Its Mojo Back

The city has hired a PR team as part of its feverish efforts to boost tourism after a string of terrorist attacks.

Why was Rihanna meeting with the president of France? In late July, the pop star wore a comically oversized navy blazer and an ostentatiously classic French designer purse (Dior) to meet with President Emanual Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, at their residence, Elysee Palace. “I <3 Madame First Lady #girlpower” Rihanna captioned her Instagram story pic of herself with Brigitte, who wore faded skinny jeans for the appointment.

How I Fell Back In Love With An Old Perfume

If "what is your strongest scent memory?" was a category on Family Feud, the number one answer would probably be "my mother's perfume." It's the anecdote you hear time and time again. But while I certainly remember my mom's signature scent—it was Cartier in my childhood and heavy on the vanilla—it's my own perfumes of years' past that instantly transport me back in time. After all, I've had quite the love affair with fragrance—and the collection to prove it. The first perfume I ever had was Cacharel's Anais Anais, which was released in 1978 and smelled like it. But oh how I loved that bottle. It was tiny and short, ivory-and-pink, and covered in girlish flowers. Although I never liked the powdery scent, I...

Dior Brings Back Spider Lashes

Dior's invitation may have read, "Why are there no great female artists?" but any woman who's successfully used a contouring brush knows that's a lie. Today's runway beauty looks gave us another opportunity for epic artistry, thanks to some serious spider lashes inspired by '60s beat babes.

Today's makeup look @dior 's SS18 show was all about the lashes. Sixties inspired 🕷SPIDER 🕷lashes. First I applied Diorshow Lash Maximizer, followed by a few coats of Diorshow Pump and Volume Mascara. A natural looking skin with our new Forever Undercover foundation and a hint of lipglow! @diormakeup Thankyou to my team for a great job! #backstage #mascara #lashes🕷

Dior Debuts A New Feminist T-shirt For Spring 2018

Some were confused about the statement made today at Paris Fashion Week.

Last season, Maria Grazia Chiuri made her debut as Dior's first female creative director with a "We Should All Be Feminists" t-shirt that took the fashion world by storm. For the fashion house's Spring 2018 show today, the designer continued her message of women's empowerment with a new theme and statement-making tee. The show opened with a model wearing a black-and-white striped t-shirt reading, "WHY HAVE THERE BEEN NO GREAT WOMEN ARTISTS?” Initially, viewers on Twitter (and even some of those attending the actual show) were a little confused by this bold question. As blogger Bryan Boy asked on Instagram Stories, "I guess Frida Kahlo is either a man or not...

Gucci, Dior, And Louis Vuitton Officially Ban Size-Zero Models

Gucci, Celine, Louis Vuitton, and Dior are among brands who have pledged to abandon size-zero models. The promise forms part of a new charter created by luxury conglomerates LVMH and Kering, who own numerous luxury fashion houses. Female models will have to be a minimum French size 34 (a U.S. size 2) and a French 44 for men (extra small). Both companies have also agreed not use men or women under the age of 16 to model adult clothes. In addition, the charter pledged to make a dedicated psychologist or therapist available during working time. The BBC reports that models will also have to present a valid medical certificate to prove that they are fit for work. "We have the responsibility of building new standards...
