See The Most Colorful Street Style At Copenhagen Fashion Week

Photo: Nabile Quenum

Copenhagen is known as one of the happiest cities in the world — despite the reputation that Danes only wear black. This week, Copenhagen Fashion Week inspired the opposite: People wore lots of color on the streets.
Photographer Nabile Quenum saw bright-red cross-body bags (and a great orange Balenciaga mini bag), fuchsia sock-heels, and lavender sweaters peeking through unbuttoned khaki dusters. The beauty looks were just as colorful: jewel-tone eye shadow, rosy lips, and sparkling eyebrows.
Hygge, the trendy Danish word for coziness, was apparent in some casual outfits, like oversize dress-shirts and athletic shoes you’d find in your dad’s closet. Click ahead to see how Danes do Copenhagen Fashion Week off the runway.

Never Mind French Girl Style—We Want to Cop the Looks of These Stylish Danes

Photographed by Søren Jepsen
Is it something in the water? Nature? Nurture? Whatever the cause, anyone would be hard-pressed to deny that Scandinavians indeed boast an almost preternaturally keen eye when it comes to style. Consider homegrown Danish fashion heroes like Freja Beha Erichsen, Pernille Teisbaek, Caroline Brasch Nielsen, and Rie Rasmussen, to name but a few. Head to Copenhagen, where the capital’s Fashion Week has just kicked off today, and you’ll encounter a veritable army of fresh-faced women (and men) biking in their camel coats and Acne Studios leather jackets, teamed with knits and other finds from deliciously offbeat local heroes like Henrik Vibskov, et al. They coast through the city looking picture-perfect on their bicycles; today this reporter watched one girl gamely...
