Chloé Spring 2018 Ad Campaign

Chloe-spring-2018-ad-campaign-the-impression-01
For her first ad campaign outing for Chloé, Creative Director Natacha Ramsey-Levi and creative agency M/M Paris put P.T. Barnum’s quote ‘Nothing draws a crowd quite like a crowd to good use. The campaign is a series of stunning still lifts from a silent film by lensman Steven Meisel of models bustling on a series of Louvre like steps. Motion blurs blend with sophisticated coloring, while accessories get their due and the house walks the walk of feminine bonding they have long been known for. It is after all a house founded by a female with strong female creatives. Models Alex Mark, Rianne van Rompaey, Charlene Högger, Eliza Cummings, Fran Summers, Hayett McCarthy, Jing Wen, Line Kjaergaard, Makala Johnson, Radhika Nair, & Sophie Koella all dash to and fro...

Phoebe Philo Is Leaving Céline

Céline SS13 campaignPhotography Juergen Teller

The upcoming AW18 collection will be the designer’s last for the Parisian house

After 10 years, Phoebe Philo has announced that she will be leaving Céline next year following the AW18 collection. After working at Chloé from 1997-2006, Philo joined the Parisian house in 2008. Over the years, the British designer’s minimal approach was widely celebrated within the industry. Beyond the industry, Philo’s aesthetic has had a longlasting effect on the high street constantly trickling down into its stores. “Working with Céline has been an exceptional experience for me these last 10 years,” the designer said in a statement released on WWD. “I am grateful to have worked with an incredibly talented and committed team and I would like to thank everyone along the way who has been part of...

Actress Haley Bennett Ate Dirt For Her Chloé Fragrance Campaign

screen-shot-2017-10-06-at-12-14-30-pm-1507306707
Chloé fragrance ads boast some impressive alumna. There’s indie royalty like Chloe Sevigny, model bombshells like Anja Rubik, and Tri-Wizard Tournament star Fleur de la Coeur. The newest addition to the roster is Haley Bennett. She’s an actress (Girl on the Train, The Magnificent Seven), a photography enthusiast, and a self-proclaimed “sunscreen connoisseur,” which happens when—like Bennett—you’re freckled and Floridian. Bennett’s Chloé gig includes a series of commercials and print ads for the house’s latest scent, Absolu de Parfum. It’s an adults-only riff on Chloé’s signature sweetness, with patchouli, vanilla, and the concentrated essence of Rose Centrifolia for more depth. And to ensure we got the memo that this new Chloé fragrance is scented shorthand for French-Girl-Cool, we spoke with Bennett in Paris—where the...

How One Designer Went from Making Coffee to Taking Over the Industry

New year, new designer shake-ups! Chloé is the latest to garner buzz about a creative changing of the guard, as Natacha Ramsay-Levi is set to take her place as the iconic French fashion house's new creative director, according to a Reuters report.
Ramsay-Levi is currently second-in-command to Louis Vuitton Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquière, which means there will be changes at both brands. Previously, she worked with Ghesquière for more than a decade when he helmed Balenciaga, starting with a 2002 internship that had her "cook coffee and sort documents," as told to Germany's Interview. This is just the latest in the industry's musical chairs game, which saw a lot of change in 2016 at Balenciaga, Hugo Boss, and Yves Saint Laurent.

What To Know About Chloé’s New Creative Director

landscape-1483555552-hbz-chloe-index
Chloé is reportedly in the process of naming a new creative director after news that Claire Waight Keller—who has helmed the brand since 2011—chose not to renew her contract, which ends in March. Her successor is expected to be Natacha Ramsay-Levi, Nicolas Ghesquière's "second-in-command" at Louis Vuitton, according to Reuters. Sources say Waight Keller decided not to renew her contract since she and her family moved from Paris (where the Chloé headquarters are located) to London in June and she wished to stop commuting between the two cities. The change follows creative director change-ups at brands like DKNY, Carven and Marni, in the latest round of designer musical chairs. Ramsay-Levi's looming appointment may raise questions on how the Louis Vuitton designer, who has...

Little black

Take your cues from the femme fatales at Christian Dior and Lanvin. For SS 17 the little black dress was both tailored and free flowing – and not afraid of a subtle sparkle or glimpse of skin.

Consider our selects from MANNING CARTELL, FOR LOVE & LEMONS, SIMONE ROCHA and ISABEL MARANT.

Female Designers Rule the Runway at Paris Fashion Week

Clare Waight Keller, Isabel Marant, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Bouchra Jarrar, Phoebe Philo, Miuccia Prada, Rei Kawakubo—when was the last time we saw so many women leading the women's wear calendar in Paris?
From fashion to politics, it's been a big year for women bosses. And in many ways, the spring/summer 2017 season has been one big celebration of womanhood in all its shapes and forms. Here are some of the strongest from day four.

Chloé's girl's girl "That's the woman I want to be," an editor said as we all walked out of the Chloé show. And the thought pretty much sums up what the Chloé girl has become during the years creative director Clare Waight Keller has led the brand: cool without...

Dree Hemingway’s New Chloé Scent is “Very Free”

landscape-1474398169-elle-chloe-lead-op

Few surnames boast a pedigree like Hemingway and one branch in the family tree, Dree, is looking to keep it bold-faced with roles in big screen projects and as the face of major ad campaigns, including one for Chloé's new fragrance Fleur de Parfum.
We were able to catch up with her while she prepped for The New Yorkers for Children Gala to discuss, among other things, sweater hoarding, surfing, and her DIY hair mask recipe.

Chloé’s Fall Campaign Is Just As Dreamy As You’d Expect

10
Season after season, Chloé is guaranteed to have a must-have It bag spotted on everyone from editors to bloggers to celebrities. Well, the French fashion house has done it again: Their F/W 16 campaign just dropped and it is utterly captivating and worthy of A-list attention. The collection is inspired by the journals of French explorer Anne France Dautheville, who traveled the globe on her motorbike in the early 1970s. Plus, the new campaign features a whole new cast of models, including Sofie Hemmet, Michi Kat, Ellen de Weer, and Frederikke Sofie. Creative Director Clare Waight Keller said of the collection, "There is such a bold sense of duality in this collection—that natural toughness and fragility of women side by side. We wanted to explore that...
