The Next Major Brow Trend Proves *Pearls* Are a Girl’s Best Friend

Leave it to Italian fashion house Gucci to take an everyday feature like our brows and make ’em extra luxe. The fashion house’s Cruise 2018 runway show from last weekend showed us how to take our arches to the next level with body baubles. Meet pearl brows, the new fad that will have you forgetting all about those barbed wire and feathered looks.

Models walked the runway with pearl accents fastened over their eyes. And Gucci didn’t stop at pearl brows — as the show progressed, the brand got more playful with the accessory.

They added in some face-framing jawline pearls and a full-on headpiece. While we’re not sure the world is ready for all that, the...

Pigtails Are The Hairstyle Of Summer 2017

While you might know that the unofficial hairstyle of the festival season is two small buns in devil's horns formation, this particular sub-sub-set of the population that also invented glitter boobs might not be the best predictor of trends you would like to follow. Instead, consider the humble pigtail—Miuccia Prada and Mary-Kate Olsen heartily support this message. Earlier this week at the Italian house's first-ever cruise (or resort or what-have-you) show, models wore tight, center-parted plaits either slung over the shoulders or behind them. This is not exactly a revelation, but with Pat McGrath's pressed-on pinky lip and those Art Deco slips and anachronistic bro socks, it kind of was in the quiet way things you haven't seen in a long...

Brow Carving Is The Newest Form Of Arch Art Taking Over Instagram

Over the past few weeks, our newsfeeds have been dominated by arch art, from barbed wire brows to dragon brows. The latest trend? That would be brow "carving," which is less about the styling of the brow hairs and more about creating intricate designs around the edges of the arches. Texas-based makeup artist Alexa Link, the originator of the carved brow, has been posting different variations of the look on her Instagram since April. Now, other MUAs are trying their hand at it too. After studying Link's designs closely, we believe she first traces eyeliner along the brow bone (and beyond), then uses a shadow to blend it out for a gradient effect. In each instance, color on the lid is minimal...

How to Rock the Watercolor Eyeshadow Trend This Season

We all know that life can imitate art. When it comes to beauty, though, it’s more about techniques imitating art. Think: calligraphy-inspired eyeliner, abstract nail art and, as of late, watercolor eyeshadow. Our Instagram feeds have been flooded with soft, dewy, and colorful eye makeup looks that mimic the effect of colorful paintings. Scroll down for seven mini masterpieces that are perfect for warm weather seasons.

1. Holographic Gloss: This look combines two of our favorite trends: watercolor eyes and glossy lids. The wet finish on the holographic purple and blue hues look stunning paired with barely there blush and a soft lip. (via Nicolas Coulomb)

Pastel soft. No harsh lines, just pure colour game. @nyxcosmetics @nyxitalia primal colors eyeshadows mixed -...

Cool or Creepy? Barbed Wire Brows Are the Latest Badass Trend to Hit Instagram

In case you thought you were fresh out of ways to style your face, there's a new revelation in the too-cool-for-spool saga. Enter: Barbed wire brows, the badass cousin of the recently-hatched feather brows.

Barbed wire brow
@athenapaginton님의 공유 게시물님, 2017 3월 10 오전 8:05 PST

Makeup artist Athena Paginton first shared her devil-may-care creation on Instagram, further proving that the days of the picture-perfect, pencil-chiseled arch will soon be behind us. And who's complaining? Any trick to disguise those rogue morning hairs (or the undeniable wreckage the week before I see my brow guru) is welcome here.

Just for fun the "barbed wire" brow inspired by @athenapaginton ! This photo is simply for brow appreciation, I used red glitter and clear gloss on...

Pretty Or Creepy? Feather Brows Are The Most Love-It-or-Hate-It Trend To Hit Instagram Yet

As far as we knew, the outer bounds of eyebrow creativity were limited to coloring, bejeweling, and maybe some highlighting. But then Finnish MUA Stella Sironen made one small parting for makeup kind, one giant leap for exciting ideas in beauty.
Earlier the week, Sironen posted the first known photo of what she'd later call the #featherbrow, in which the arch's hairs are split down the middle using a glue stick (!!!) for an effect that resembles barbs diverging along a quill. Note 1: She credits her friend Leevi for dreaming up the avian look while brushing her brows. And Note 2 : Get a load of that holographic eye and blue mascara—really nice.

so i'm starting this new brow trend please...
