Anna Dello Russo Is Selling Pieces From Her Famous Personal Closet

The iconic fashion editor will be selling pieces from her illustrious closet at Christie's and on Net-A-Porter.

Anna Dello Russo, editor-at-large and creative consultant at Vogue Japan, has decided to share the wealth. Such a position in the fashion world, having spent 18 years at Condé  Nast Italia, has earned her access to the world's most pristine threads — at times, according to some, wearing them better to countless fashion weeks than any model on any runway. Now, it's time for a new generation to learn from her decades of looks right off the runway. Beginning in February, the fashionista will sell 30 of her archival looks at during a special auction at Christie's, which will be held on the first day of Milan...

Olivier Rousteing’s Perfect Day

8:30 A.M. On Christmas morning I’ll wake up in Bordeaux in my childhood bedroom surrounded by my posters. As a kid, I was obsessed with the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Claudia Schiffer, and Cindy Crawford. I don’t want to say what I’ll be wearing because it looks a bit strange, but, okay—Petit Bateau striped pajamas with a matching cap, which my mom still buys for me. My dad and I will have breakfast next door with my grandma and granddad. We’ll eat ome- lets with bacon and nice homemade bread. 10:30 A.M. I’ll go back home to shower and then put on skinny pants, a tank top, and my double-breasted jacket. No matter where I am, it’s my uniform. When I travel I...

Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing Shows How You Can Turn Any T-Shirt Into Punk Lingerie

Earlier this year, Victoria’s Secret and Olivier Rousteing joined forces to create the VS x Balmain collection, making graffiti-covered T-shirts and ’70s rock–inspired finery accessible to the masses. While Rousteing’s in-your-face aesthetic translated into the lingerie giant’s edgiest collection to date, the designer reveals in a new video that you don’t even need to buy the collection to get its signature look. Behind the scenes at the brand’s Shanghai show, Rousteing delivered a crash course in how to elevate a basic tee into something exceptional. Utilizing items that you’re sure to have lying around the house—safety pins, beads, and a sharp pair of scissors—he transformed Josephine Skriver, Ming Xi, and Romee Strijd into the newest members of the Balmain army. While Rousteing is a regular in the...

Seven Modern Ways To Style Brown Clothes For Winter

Suede patchwork track jacket by Chloé, mesh body by Evan Phillips, thigh-high patent-leather boots by Mulberry

Agata Belcen and Nell Kalonji suggest a contemporary update for the 1970s shade, styled on Grace Bol and photographed by Jackie Nickerson for AnOther Magazine A/W17

The colour brown was ubiquitous during the 1970s – injected into interiors, cars, clothes, and everything in between. The popularity of such a drab hue might have been cultural response to the technicolour psychedelia of the preceding decade; corduroy trousers, suede fringing, leather jackets and polyester shirts taking on tones of tan, beige, mahogany and burnt umber in a revolution against brighter hues.

Given its reputation as the black of the 1970s, making brown work in a contemporary wardrobe is no mean feat. Here, as photographed for AnOther Magazine A/W17 by Jackie Nickerson, Agata Belcen and Nell Kalonji explore.

Victoria’s Secret And Balmain Give A First Look At Their Collaboration

Courtesy Victoria's Secret

Olivier Rousteing teases how the collection was made.

One of the most anticipated features of this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is the VS x Balmain collaboration. Though the lingerie brand and the French fashion house have previously teased what to expect on the runway in Shanghai this year, a new video gives an even closer look at the upcoming collab. The clip shows Balmain's creative director, Olivier Rousteing, in his Parisian design studio, testing out a look from the collection on model Cindy Bruna back in June. (She first walked for VS in 2013.) Although her full ensemble isn't revealed head-to-toe, the footage gives away the signature Balmain design elements included in her look: black leather, studs, statement-making shoulders and a sexy silhouette. Just...

(As his Instagram bio proclaims, “THIS IS MY REALITY!”) A collaboration with L’Oréal—another storied Parisian brand, but one decidedly more accessible—fits right in with Rousteing’s mission to provide his...

Balmain Designs Headphones For Beats By Dr. Dre

High-fashion forays into wearable tech aren't new (i.e. Louis Vuitton's smartwatchesand Michael Kors' activity trackers), but this collaboration between Balmain and Beats by Dr. Dre might be the coolest one yet.
Beats just unveiled two new custom designs by the French fashion house—Safari (gold metal detailing on tan leather) and Khaki (gold metal with army green leather)—available in the brand's Studio Wireless over-ear headphones and Powerbeats3 Wireless earbuds. The earpieces come in suede cases embellished with a gold plated Balmain logo, too.

Olivier Rousteing Shoots His First Balmain Campaign

Olivier Rousteing/Balmain
At just 24 years old, Olivier Rousteing became Balmain's youngest-ever creative director and the youngest in Paris since Yves Saint Laurent himself. Since his appointment in 2011, Rousteing has been credited with bringing a new era of social media savviness to the historic French fashion house. Now, the young designer is taking his eye for photography beyond the scope of Instagram. For the first time ever, Rousteing stepped behind the lens to photograph Balmain's Fall 2017 ad campaign. Dedicated to the city of Paris, the series of black-and-white photos were shot all over the French capital and feature Balmain Army members, such as Natasha Poly, Lara Stone, Presley Gerber, Ton Heukels, Jon Kortagarena, Marlon Teixeira, Grace Bol, Aleyna Fitzgerald, Alexina Graham,...
