Kendall Jenner’s Bod Melts Ice, Ice Baby

gallery-1457960232-unknown-1

Spring is almost here! Which means the days when you can writhe around in a bathing suit, melt ice off your bod, and sport wet pool hair like it ain't no thang―à la Kendall Jenner―are nearly upon us. The Calvin Klein face teamed up with Love magazine to shoot a video and print campaign featuring the brand's swimwear collection (with some bonus denim and undies in there for good measure) and it feels like summer―or, something:

But what's also remarkable is how much Kendall looks like fellow pinup pro Emily Ratajkowski in the campaign. Just compare with Emrata's Love advent video:

Kate Moss’s Hair Guru on Calvin Klein, Marky Mark, and 25 Years of Grunge

landscape-1457971577-elle-guido-index

You know Guido Palau, even if you don't. Lady Gaga's lacquered finger waves on Marc Jacobs' runway? He did that. The wigs for Alexander McQueen's "Savage Beauty" exhibit at the Met? He did those, too. And way back before he was the go-to hair guy for Miuccia Prada and Gisele, he was part of the Brit pack that brought London's grunge scene to the fashion world.
We spoke with the Dorset, England native—now Redken's global creative director—at the Four Seasons Hotel in Paris because we're all adults now. Kind of.

Redken said we could ask you anything. So here's what we want to know: What was it like being part of the grunge movement that invaded fashion in...

Here’s How Kim Kardashian West, Kanye West, and North West Do Weekend Style at the Mall

celeb-style-wests
Between trips to Paris Fashion Week and Ikea’s HQ in Sweden, the Wests have had a busy week. But like most families, they prefer to do weekends closer to home, and  paid a visit to their local mall in Los Angeles yesterday, stopping by the Build-A-Bear Workshop in coordinating outfits. Kim kept things cool in an elevated take on the army surplus jacket, adding a touch of contrast to her all-black aesthetic. Yeezy 950 duck boots gave the ensemble an added utilitarian vibe and picked up on Kanye’s lo-fi look; he was dressed in an oversize jacket, skinny jeans, and gray Yeezy 750 high-tops, complementing his wife’s style. It was little North, though, who really put her best foot forward. The 2-year-old...

Chloë Grace Moretz Defends Her Now-Infamous Reaction to That Kim K. Selfie

54a7435716a83_-_elle-chloe-2-h
In Hollywood, where some young starlets have been apprehensive to side with feminism, 19-year-old actress Chloë Grace Moretz has been a loud and proud "feminist since birth." She avoids "sexualized, boobs out, ass up" female movie roles. She campaigns for Hillary Clinton. She even endorses products with women's empowerment in mind, most recently backing period subscription box and app Monthly Gift (which, for the month of March is donating one box to sustainable hygiene and health education nonprofit Days for Girls for every box sold). On the heels of the controversy surrounding her response to Kim Kardashian's nude selfieseen 'round the world ("I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than our bodies," Moretz tweeted), we caught...

13 Photos Of Bill Cunningham At Work That Will Warm Your Heart

GETTY

Before there were street style bloggers and Instagram stars, there was New York Times fashion photographer Bill Cunningham, his camera and the city's stylish passersby. Now, even with decades in the business and a renowned career under his belt, Cunningham still lives by humble means, traversing Manhattan on his bicycle and snapping photographs in his signature, simple blue jacket. In celebration of the legendary photographer's 87th birthday today, here are 13 photos of him doing what he does best.

Wisp of a Thing: New Ways to Plump Up Fine Hair

FLR02_BTY_Frontis1-480x600

When my sister and I were little, our cousins called us Silk and Satin after our shiny, fine hair, which my mom would curl under into dainty mushroom caps. We were hair vain until our bodies grew and changed while our babyish locks remained the same: fragile and limp. We enjoyed a hot moment at the height of the grunge era, when it was sexy to see helix-pierced ears poking through stringy, middle-parted strands. But mostly we lusted after the wild, full manes of Keri and Carrie (Russell and Bradshaw), the ropeish ponytails of our Asian friends, buns bigger than Timbits. This follicular dissatisfaction led to decades of blunt bobs and hours wasted searching for effective jeujing products.

See Beautiful Old-World Fashion Photos

jeude-paume-1.nocrop.w1800.h1330.2x
Paris Fashion Week reminds us, season after season, that we’re never quite finished with history. This time around, it was Saint Laurent’s old-school salon-style staging and Demna Gvasalia reupholstering signature silhouettes from the Balenciagaarchives. As such, it’s intriguing to dip into the world of turn-of-the-century fashion highlighted by François Kollar, a Hungarian-born photographer who reinvented himself in France as a documentarian of professional life in the first half of the 20th century. A larger retrospective of his oeuvre, titled "A Working Eye," is currently on view at the Jeu de Paume in Paris. Kollar examined the chain of production in both industrial and artisanal milieus, before mechanization replaced a human-powered workforce. He captured various spheres: automobile and aviation workers, lumberjacks and...

Dick Drawings, Laundromats, and French Fries: Alexander Wang’s New Campaign Is Here

alexander-wang-bks-a-rf16-1611
Want to feel insufficiently cool on this Friday afternoon? You’re in luck! Alexander Wang’s Spring 2016 campaign is here, and it’s pretty much guaranteed to intimidate the crap out of you. Hyped on Instagram as the season of the “Wang Squad”, with a cast including Kaia Gerber, rapper Vic Mensa, K-pop sensation CL, and modeling’s “Bad Girls Club”—Lexi Boling, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Binx Walton, et al.—the ads capture the brand’s eff-you ethos to a T. Photographed by Steven Klein, the campaign was shot against a backdrop of less-than-glamorous locations—a hardware store, a subway station, the trunk of a car, Brooklyn’s Metro Community Laundromat, even Boling’s New York apartment, where a rendering of her “dickhead attitude” (as, uh, an actual dick) hangs on...

Lourdes Leon, Madonna Offpring, Is the Face of Stella McCartney’s New Fragrance

02-lola-leon-stella-mccartney

She might only be 19, but Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon just landed a major campaign. Late last night, designer Stella McCartney announced that Lourdes, or Lola, as she prefers to be called, is one of the frontwomen for McCartney’s new fragrance, POP by Stella McCartney.

So happy to have Lola on the POP team! Lola, who I’ve known her entire life, is at the beginning of her career as a performing artist. She’s an independent, inspirational and free-spirited young woman. Despite being born in the spotlight, she has kept her feet firmly on the ground! X Stella #POPNOW #LolaLeon

Why Has Makeup Gotten So Minimal?

15-normcore-beauty.w1224.h813
By the end of Fashion Week last fall, I had become bored of nude makeup. The first five times, it was interesting — but a beauty editor reporting on nude makeup is like being a weather reporter in Hawaii. Surely, I thought, spring would be different. Spring is light! Spring is pretty! Spring brings lip colors (usually)! But instead, several shows this month — from New York to Milan to Paris — have again featured next-to-nothing makeup. Nude lips became even nuder — your natural lip color, flourished only with an untinted lip balm. Perspiration was the inspiration. London nails were left notably bare, in the city that practically birthed nail art. There have been a very few lip colors in Milan. Glitter was on the clothing and...
