What A Healthy Period Really Looks Like

No cramping, no clotting, no spotting, no acne and no mood swings.

If I could compare my period to something, it would be as dry the Sahara Desert. I was 18 years old and in agony when my gynecologist handed me a packet of birth control pills to address my insane cramping, heavy bleeding and acne. “I have horrible cramps,” I told the nurse who chuckled and said, “Haven’t we all,” before handing me a packet of Advil. I was told too many times that cramping was a part of being a woman and to accept the painful side effects. So I was given synthetic hormones to mask the symptoms—rather than addressing the route of my hormonal problems—and after being on...

Egg-in-a-Hole Sandwich With Bacon And Cheddar

Egg-In-A-Hole Sandwich With Bacon And Cheddar

Warning: A fork and knife (or a bib, at the very least) may be required to tackle this sandwich.

4 slices thick-cut bacon

4 ¾-inch-thick slices sourdough or other country-style bread

4 large eggs

Kosher salt, freshly ground pepper

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided

4 slices cheddar

Hot sauce

Special Equipment

2-inch-diameter cookie cutter

Preparation Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat, turning halfway through, until browned and crisp, 8–10 minutes. Meanwhile, use cutter to punch out a circle in the center of each piece of bread (save for snacking, now or later). Transfer bacon to a cutting board; cut in half crosswise. Carefully pour half of bacon drippings into a small bowl. Place 2 slices of bread in skillet and cook...

Adidas Originals X Alexander Wang Season 2 Is a Cyclist’s Dream Come True

The first drop of Adidas Originals by Alexander Wang Season 2 is here. Following previous collections, which featured all-black athleisure, re-imagined monochrome tracksuits and a new basketball sneaker, this one takes a bold turn. This installment is inspired by the unexpected combination of raves and cycling (which in itself, sounds like a SoulCycle class). There are 27 unisex pieces, including a skin-tight onesie, cycling shorts and an Adidas-striped balaclava. The drop also includes a new sneaker, the AW Hike Lo, in neon red and green. Tomorrow, the official campaign images, shot by Juergen Teller, will appear in billboards and posters around NYC, with a phone number and product codes for each piece in the collection. Starting at 12pm EST, customers can...

Kim Kardashian’s Controversial Instagram Ad Is Back

The Kardashian-Jenner family pushes all kinds of products through their Instagram channels—watches, gummy bear hair vitamins, laxative teas, you name it. But by far the strangest and most controversial Instagram influencer advertisement comes by the way of Kim Kardashian, who back in 2015 got in trouble with the FDA for posting about a prescription morning sickness pill without listing the side effects. Kardashian just posted about the drug again in a paid endorsement, but this time there's a whole lot more in the caption.

#Ad #DYK 4 million babies are born each year in the US. That means a lot of my US followers are mommies2B who could have morning sickness like I did! I want to share what helped me:...

Author of The Princess Diaries book series, Meg Cabot told Entertainment Weeklythat a script exists. She also said that if the movie gets made, it'll happen "kind of as a tribute" to Garry Marshall, director of the first two movies, who sadly passed away in 2016....

What To Know Before Customizing Your Denim Jacket

The following feature appears in the August 2017 issue of NYLON. We here at NYLON love our denim so much, that we dedicate our entire August issue to the timeless staple. And if you don’t take our word for it, just ask NYLON style director and resident Factory Girl, Dani Stahl, who recently paid a visit to Levi’s flagship store in Brooklyn, NY. Noting this visit as her third Factory Girl story with the denim powerhouse, the style maven customized her new vintage trucker jacket with patches and embroidery galore with help from Levi’s premier tailor, Luke Good, and Jill Guenza, Global VP Women’s Design at Levi’s. While there, Stahl learned all about the customization process from the duo, which includes a consultation between the two...

Proenza Schouler Taps Activists And Models To Raise Awareness For Planned Parenthood

As Planned Parenthood confronts defunding under the recently passed GOP health care bill, the fate of women’s health in America is in jeopardy. Ever since Donald Trump was elected president in November 2016, the fashion industry has rallied together to draw attention to the 2.5 million men and women who visit Planned Parenthood clinics across the country every year. They come for breast examination and cervical screenings, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases and infections, contraception and family planning. Over the past nine months, designers like Diane von Furstenberg, Prabal Gurung, Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, and Sophie Theallet have been drumming up support for the cause in the media and have all publicly refused to dress First Lady, Melania Trump....
