Disney Goes Haute With a New Kenzo Collaboration

00-kenzo
Welcome to the jungle—the jungle, that is, as envisioned to want-it-now effect withKenzo’s new The Jungle Book collab. Ahead of a live-action-meets-uncanny-CGI remake premiering next month (featuring the voices of Bill Murray, Idris Elba,Lupita Nyong’o, et al), the Parisian house has teamed up with Disney to create a sizable ready-to-wear capsule of cheeky pieces for men and women. Marrying archival Kenzo florals with art from the beloved 1967 original movie, the styles are right in step with the runways’ current taste for tropicalia—and the new life the Hawaiian shirt has enjoyed in recent months among plentifully tatted male models, et al. Kenzo creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim headed into the cornucopic Disney archives, uncovering beautifully gestural sketches from the...

The Healthy Snacks Gwyneth Paltrow Eats In The Afternoon

Photo: Getty Images

It seems we all suffer from the 3pm slump, even our favourite celebrity health guru, Gwyneth Paltrow. The founder of Goop just revealed what she eats as an afternoon pick me up and if it’s good enough for Gwyneth, it’s good enough for us.

Beyoncé’s New Activewear Brand

Photo: Ivy Park
We've been getting snippets of info on Beyoncé's new venture withTopshop for a while now, but now we have even more news to share. First up: the name. Beyoncé has dubbed it—drum roll, please—Ivy Park. Awebsite and Instagram account also just launched this morning. And it's actually not a collaboration; it's a standalone activewear brand created by both Beyoncé and Sir Philip Green, who owns Topshop. "Sir Phillip has created some amazing collaborations, but I wanted a partnership and a standalone brand," Beyoncé said in a statement. "When I'm working and rehearsing, I live in my workout clothes, but I didn't feel there was an athletic brand that spoke to me. My goal with Ivy Park is to push the boundaries of athletic wear and to support...

Bloggers Are Now More Influential Than Celebrities

1
You already know how popular fashion bloggers are these days—after all, some of them are raking in millions. But just how much power do theyreally wield? According to results of a new survey, bloggers are now more influential than celebrities, when it comes to product endorsements. As RetailDive reports, the market company Collective Bias surveyed 14,000 people to come up with its findings. Interestingly, only 3% of participants said they'd consider buying a celeb-endorsed item, in stark contrast to the 60% who said they've been influenced by a blog review or social media post when shopping. Plus, RetailDive explains that nearly 30% of consumers "are more likely to purchase a product endorsed by a non-celebrity blogger than a celebrity." Furthermore, there's one subset of the population that's particularly...

Trending Now In Our Store: Tropical Punch

landscape-1459259899-hbz-trending-now-0329-index

From haute-Hawaiian prints to garden-inspired patterns and jewelry, spring 2016 brings a bold and bright tropical palette with a serious dose of vacation-mode. When you take a trip, let your look read "off-duty": clashing colors, oversized floral earrings and skin showing. For the days when you're "on duty" pair a flashy piece back with a pencil skirt (like Yasmin Sewell, middle) or tailored denim, and streamlined accessories, for a polished look—at least until Happy Hour.

The Italian Drugstore Brand Makeup Artists Love

30-kara-walker-kiko.w542.h812
The only thing better than a good drugstore beauty product is an exotic drugstore beauty product. And the only thing better than that is an exotic drugstore beauty product loved by celebrity makeup artists. Such is Kiko Milano, an Italian drugstore brand whose name recalls all sorts of delightful things, like Pepperidge Farm snack cookies, having a kiki, and Japanese model Kiko Mizuhara. Google "Kiko Milano" and you won’t find much. There’s a post about Kiko's eye shadow on Into the Gloss, and a story about Yale students protesting the brand to make a point about New Haven gentrification. (As protest subjects go, it was an odd choice — the Milan-based brand might sound fancy, but the pricing makes it totally accessible.) But if you...

Tracing John Galliano’s Fashion Rebellion

john-galliano-unicorn-press-5.nocrop.w1800.h1330.2x
Of his various labels in the fashion industry, John Galliano is perhaps best captured by the French expression enfant terrible: defiant, nonconformist, and controversial. That classification is the focus of the book Galliano: Fashion's Enfant Terrible, out April 15, which traces the designer's career from Givenchy and Dior to his more recent stint at Maison Margiela as creative director (following his anti-Semitic remarks and suspension from Dior in 2011). "He is a fantastic example, when it comes to the art of the fashion designer, of a genuine rebel with a cause," author David Foy writes in the introduction. "With Galliano's work you might not always have liked what you saw, but you would never forget it." Click ahead to see Kate Moss, the haute couture lobster-claw hat he created for Dior, and...
