The famed Colette won’t be open for much longer, but it will certainly be going out with a bang. Next week the Parisian boutique will be taken over by Chanel, in a new exhibition that will also see an exclusive sneaker designed by Pharrell Williams.
Today it was confirmed that not only is Karl Lagerfeld teaming up with Adidas for an exclusive shoe for the boutique, but that he has also tapped the musician to help with the design. Called the Adidas Hu NMD, the shoe is the first time that Williams, a longtime ambassador for Chanel, will design an item for the luxury label.
While no official images have been released, a few pics of the shoe began floating around social media earlier this month. The sneakers are black and white, with short laces, reading “Pharrell” across one foot, and “Chanel” across the other. The interlocking “CC” logo appears on the back.
It’s weird, unexpected partnerships like this that made Colette so special. While the fashion world will be sad to see it go, fans should know that there’s still time to visit—the boutique doesn’t officially close until December 20, 2017.
Chanel’s Colette takeover will run from October 30 to November 25, 2017.
