Anine Bing’s Lingerie Campaign Is a Beautiful Tribute To Real Women

chloe-hayward-280-1512344871
Lingerie can be incredibly empowering. “Women wear it to feel great for themselves, far more than wearing it for someone else. You’re the reason,” Anine Bing, the former blogger and singer, who debuted her namesake line of model-off-duty staples in 2012, tells CR. The designer's cute and comfortable underpinnings, in particular, have developed a cult following among it-girls like Kendall Jenner and the Hadid sisters. Last week she expanded and re-launched her best-selling range of lingerie (all priced under $100) with an inspiring new campaign featuring real women—ages 19 to 64—with zero retouching. “They’re entrepreneurs and artists, survivors and life-givers,” says Bing. “Each has a unique story to tell.” Check out some of CR's favorite images from the campaign below and shop...

Opening Ceremony Threw A Raging Dance Party To Increase Voter Turnout

Photography Colby Blount/ BFA

In partnership with the grassroots organization, the brand’s rager emphasized how the 2018 elections could change the course of American politics. Oh, and there was pizza.

House remixes of 90s Janet Jackson, pork belly bao, and looks consisting of everything from vintage Raf Simons to waist-length pastel-grey braids. This is not what you would expect at your standard benefit (especially one involving politics). But, then again, Opening Ceremony isn’t really the kind of brand that does “standard.” Saturday night, OC partnered with Swing Left, a progressive organization working to increase voter turnout, to get the message out to New York’s young creatives: VOTE IN THE 2018 ELECTIONS. Understandably, a lot of hope and faith has been placed in the 2020 Presidential Election....

Balenciaga Is Merging their Men’s And Women’s Collections

MON0465-1440x630

The times are changing at Balenciaga.

Balenciaga is the latest fashion house to join the recent trend of brands moving to dual-gender runway shows, taking the plunge like Burberry, Calvin Klein, Gucci, and Kenzo. Today, the Paris-based brand and creative director Demna Gvasalia announced that going forward, their men's and women's collections will be shown on the runway together, rather than appearing separately in men's and women's fashion month. The change will go into effect starting with the forthcoming Autumn/Winter 2018 line during Paris Fashion Week next March. And in addition to the combination of their lines, Balenciaga will also see an expansion for their men's fashions, which was only recently relaunched in June 2016, as they are set to debut a...

How a Gallery Girl Dresses For The Job

elm120117figallerygirl-001-1512494476
For the 1942 opening of her gallery Art of This Century, Peggy Guggenheim paired a custom-made white gown with earrings designed for the occasion: one by sculptor (and friend) Alexander Calder, one by painter (and friend) Yves Tanguy—a soigné demonstration of her commitment to the competing schools of abstract and surrealist art on view in her boundary-pushing new space in midtown Manhattan. It’s easy to be a walking work of art in literal statement earrings when you’re a Guggenheim whose friends make MoMA-worthy sculpture one day and earrings for you the next. Today, though, it’s a woman further down the art-world food chain who has captured the imagination of fashion designers and young professional women alike. Enter the gallery girl—the brainy,...

Kate Moss Debuts As The Face Of Saint Laurent

Saint Laurent Spring 2018 campaignPhotography David Sims

Spoiler alert: she looks amazing

When it comes to models, you’d probably feel pretty confident saying that Kate Moss has done it all. While she has been a fan of Saint Laurent – since it was first rebranded by Hedi Slimane – she has not made an appearance on the runway or in a campaign since the Tom Ford-era. Until now. Following a teaser posted on Instagram, the Parisian house has now released the Spring 2018 campaign featuring the iconic model. Photographed by David Sims, the British icon appears in one image dressed in a feathery dress from the SS18 show that paid homage to Yves Saint Laurent’s archive. In the accompanying campaign video, directed by Nathalie Canguilhem, we see Moss on her journey to the top of some steps that look as though they...

Café Du Monde And 230 Fifth Are The Most-Instagrammed Restaurants In The U.S.

cafe-du-monde
Think back to all the restaurants and cafés that you've captured on your Instagram Story and scrolled past on your feed this year. If you or the people you follow live in New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles, there's a good chance those snaps helped boost your favorite eateries to the top of Instagram's list of the most-'grammed restaurants, bars, bakeries, and cafes in the U.S. in 2017. On Wednesday, Instagram released its year in review, separating the most popular restaurants in the country into two categories: the most-Instagrammed restaurants and the most-Instagrammed bakeries and cafés. Funny enough, the most-photographed "restaurant" is actually a rooftop bar: the sprawling 230 Fifth in New York City, which is located 21 floors up and offers spectacular views of Manhattan including the...
