Carine’s Favorite Margiela Pant Is High Fashion Street Style Bait

margiela-layered-trousers-street-style-1509992434

Some street style trends are more predictable than others. One moment that seemingly came out of left field at the Spring 2018 shows: a particular pair of Margiela pants fusing a denim waistband with pinstripe trouser legs. Avant-garde yet totally wearable, they embody the deconstructed tailoring the brand is known for (to which John Galliano adds his signature twist). CR first spotted Carine (naturally) wearing the layered-effect look over the summer. Soon after, street style left and right started turning up in the statement-making pants, which are chicest with a simple black shirt or jacket on top. Get inspired and shop the pants below.

Salvador Dalí’s Surreal Guide To Drinking Wine

Salvador Dalí. Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí, Figueres, 2017Courtesy of Taschen

As The Wines of Gala is re-published by Taschen for the first time in 40 years, we outline its eccentric take on the art of wine consumption

Last year, Salvador Dalí’s 1973 cookbook Les Dîners de Gala was re-issued by Taschen. In its pages the artist and his wife, Gala, wrote of how to assemble such delicacies as frog pasties – requiring a precise number of 36 legs from the amphibian – and the erotic potential of lobster and sea bass dishes, which were regularly served at the couple’s legendary dinner parties. A little-known sequel to this fittingly bizarre edition was The Wines of Gala, published in 1976 and named (for a second time) after the artist’s muse and lover. Written by Max Gérard, a longtime friend of Dalí and Louis Orizet,...

Highlights and slicked back locks are a thing of the past. This season, 90's minimalism is back in full swing and better than ever, and really, who knew that the flat wave could be so cool? Texture makes a comeback, adding dimension to everyday styles, but don’t think of these as your average, run-of-the-mill beachy waves. Right now is all about sexiness—the kind you feel when you get your hair done and don’t want to wash it for the next four days because it begins to look even more effortlessly chic. And no one does it better then Kaia Gerber, fashion elites' newest member to the supermodel club. Here are six, CR approved ways to recreate the new it-girls best style moments.

Who is it? In her role as head of social media at optical brand Warby Parker, Jen Rubio was clocking up over 300,000 air miles a year. On her travels she noticed that, monogrammed-trunkers aside, she couldn’t find a luggage brand that any of her peers loved or would recommend. Setting up with her best friend and then-colleague Steph Korey, Rubio sought to follow their eyewear brand employer’s direct-to-consumer business model, in the hopes that that...

Gigi Hadid Just Wore An All-Yellow Ralph Lauren Outfit And You Will Need Shades To Look At Her

hbz-gigi-hadid-1107-getty-index-1-1510093858

Gigi Hadid knows how to work the monochrome trend, and tonight she upgraded it with some extra wattage. The model stepped out for her Gigi Hadid x Maybelline launch party in London wearing a yellow-on-yellow ensemble from Ralph Lauren. The look made for a bright statement and a stark contrast to the British city's cloudy skies.
Hadid's coat and sequined mini dress were from Lauren's Fall 2017 collection, which just premiered during NYFW in the designer's garage. She paired the look with gold, glittery heeled pumps. All together, the look was a Kira-Kira addict's dream come true.

Public School Collaborates With SoulCycle On A Chic Spin-Centric Collection

Photo: Sharon Schuster
Little unnerves me, exercise-wise, quite like the anticipation of getting dressed for it. Despite the cute crop tops and brightly colored Lycra now turning up in the market, this Vogue writer longs for the days when there wasn’t such a fuss about what you looked like while sweating it out. Until now, my athletic routine has been centered around standard gym clothes—black leggings, raggedy t-shirt, broken-in sneaks—that serve no greater purpose than, well… being okay to work out in. Make no mistake: I’m all for leggings instead of pants and oversized hoodies that double as dresses (as seen on the likes of Rihanna, Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, and Kim Kardashian West and the Spring runways of Balenciaga, Versace, Isabel Marant, and Off-White), but dropping hundreds of dollars on high-luxury, high-performance athletic apparel? Seems excessive. Still, when the chance to...

How To DIY These Ridiculously Easy Bracelet Nails

nail-bracelets-madeline-poole-nail-art-1509989798
Nail art in 2011? Cool AF. Nail art in 2017? Not so much. At least, not the nail art of yesteryear, with intricate little butterflies and flowers and phrases painted across your nail beds. But we're not saying nail art is dead—no, quite the contrary; it's very much alive and well, but it's now taken on a definitively cooler, more minimalist vibe, with simple lines, geographic cut outs, and negative space, all of which pretty much beg to be Instagrammed. And to show us how to cash in on the trend before it morphs into something else, we got manicurist Madeline Poole, Sally Hansen's global color ambassador and the ultimate nail guru (just check out her Instagram) to break down her newest...

A New Exhibition from Hermès Salutes the Artist Behind Those Iconic Windows

A Leïla Menchari designed scene for Hermès Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Summer 2005

When Leïla Menchari was but an art student, freshly transplanted to Paris from her native Tunisia, the decorator then in charge of Hermès’ windows, Annie Beaumel, asked her to “draw me your dreams." Little did Menchari realize on that particular day, in 1961, that she had stumbled onto her life’s work. Today, the stories she tells in her windows for Hermès remain the standard by which all other displays are measured. This month, the publishing house Actes Sud will unveil Leïla Menchari, Queen of Enchantment, a tribute to Menchari’s remarkable career, and illustrated through 137 of her window displays. To accompany the tome, Hermès mounted a companion exhibition at the Grand Palais, in collaboration with the scenographer Nathalie Crinière. “Hermès à Tire d’Aile...

Here’s How to Make Olivia Culpo’s Favorite Holiday Cocktail

gettyimages-631242190-1510010873

It's almost hard to believe, but it's pretty much holiday time. It's time to throw out the pumpkins, and get ready for all things merry and bright—and, yes, that includes your drinks. From holiday parties to your parents' annual mixer, it's time to switch up your usual libations with a festive cocktail. And we got a delicious one mixed by Olivia Culpo herself.
So how did she decide her very own drink? "I like a cocktail that is light and fresh, so I’ve created my own signature holiday cocktail, the Stella Artois Cidre Sparkler, which uses rosemary and cranberries—nothing tastes more like the holidays than that!” Fair enough. Here's how to make the surprisingly simple sip.
