Jeremy Scott’s Collaboration With UGG Is Exactly What You’d Expect

COURTESY OF UGG BOOTS
When UGG reigned supreme in the early 2000s, the world was a different place. Kim Kardashian was Paris Hilton's humble assistant; Pluto was still a planet (demoted in 2006); and presidents didn't have Twitter accounts. Style-wise the era could be described as cute but vulgar—an aesthetic that fully embraced rhinestone butterfly navel rings, for example! Loved by both 'What a Girl Wants' and 'Dirrty' Christina Aguilera-type gals, one of the sartorial status symbols of the decade was, of course, the UGG boot. Despite its authentic surfer roots from the seventies, the shearling shoe was quickly catapulted into aughties iconography as a cozy, but 'basic' must-have. Fast forward almost 20 years and Jeremy Scott's capsule collaboration with UGG is here to shake...

La La Anthony’s New Denim Collection Is Made For Bombshell Curves

Photo: Courtesy of La La Anthony
There’s a charming, girl-next-door quality to La La Anthony’s style, a look she’s quietly cultivated since her days on MTV in the early aughts. Though we’re now more used to seeing her at glamorous red carpet events such as the Met Ball, she’s just as chic in a simple T-shirt and jeans. It’s why the VJ turned actress’s first foray into fashion is something of a perfect fit: a capsule collection of denim, all retailing under $120. “Denim is a universal language in clothing,” says Anthony of her debut collection, which includes five jean styles as well as a selection of casual hoodies and tops. “We go from size 0 to 24, which is amazing because we can cater to all body...

Natalie Portman Channels Sia In New Miss Dior Film

natalie-portman-miss-dior-eau-de-parfum-1504208459
In Natalie Portman's first commercial for the Miss Dior fragrance back in 2015, we watched the actress (almost) walk down the aisle to the crooning of Janis Joplin. Two years later, and in honor of the launch of Miss Dior Eau de Parfum, she's giving it all she's got again, only this time to Sia's "Chandelier." Those of us who are really paying attention will realize this film is a continuation of the first one, with Portman demanding that the man she left at the altar, "Prove it!" (re: his claim that he loves her). Then she jumps off a pier, skids out in a pink convertible, and revisits an emotional highlights reel from her relationship. It's energetic, arresting, and not exactly your...

How to Shop the Best Vintage Denim on Instagram

Photographed by Franco Rubartelli, Vogue, January 15, 1968

Finding good vintage denim is difficult—finding that perfect pair online is even harder. Or at least it was until a new wave of vintage denim dealers started selling their stock on Instagram. Now, it’s possible to look through someone’s personal denim archive—perhaps physically located across the country—and send a direct message to the dealer to snag a unique piece on the spot. Thanks to near-daily updates, the hunt can become addicting, and it’s a race to write in before the caption changes to sold. Here, seven Instagram accounts that are changing the vintage denim game—stumbling across that one-off denim jacket has never been easier.

Just listed these amazing patched Levi's 🌄 who's gonna snag 'em? {sold} NOIROHIO VINTAGE(@noirohio)님의 공유 게시물님, 2017 8월 11...

Nick Minaj Calls Out The Fashion Industry For Appropriating Black Culture

Getty

"Designers get really big and really rich off of our culture."

Nicki Minaj has been making her usual rounds at NYFW this season, sitting front row and joining the party circuit, but that doesn't mean she'll refrain from pointing out the fashion world's flaws. After attending the Philipp Plein Spring 2018 show on Saturday, the superstar rapper took a dig at the industry during the designer's afterparty.

"Thank you Philipp Plein for including our culture," she said, according The Cut. "Designers get really big and really rich off of our culture, and then you don’t see a motherfucker that look anything like us in the front row half the time. So let’s make some noise for Philipp Plein tonight."

Aerie Launches Nude Collection Of Bras And Undies

aerie-real-me-nude-collection-9-1504178312

Aerie, the cool sister of American Eagle, has been all about diversity and inclusivity for for a while now. Curve model Barbie Ferreira starred in the brand's Aerie Real campaign back in early 2016, and as early as 2015, the brand put forth completely un-retouched ads.
This week that commitment to diversity came in a slightly skimpier form, with the brand unveiling eleven nude shades of bras and undies for the Aerie Real Me collection. Instead of "nude" secretly meaning only baby doll white, there's now a range of tones that reflect a rainbow of melanin and pigmentation variances: Honesty is a milky cafe au lait. Strength is a rich cocoa. Valentine is a true peach.

Denim on denim is having a moment.

When it comes to style, Rihanna and Kendall Jenner work two very different sides of the fashion spectrum. The former is known to rock risk-taking, high-fashion looks both on and off the red carpet, while the latter has mastered a seasoned model off-duty look. But last night, the unthinkable occurred when the two stepped out in different cities wearing the same outfit.
