BB_CARMEN_00-2
She’s the mind behind Chronicles of Her and the girl who’s closet you covet. Here she shares her moments to remember and the products to never forget. Tell us about where you grew up and where you live now? I’m originally from the Gold Coast and now I live in Sydney (Bondi) – you can’t take the girl away from the beach. What is your career and how did you come to work in this field? Since graduating university I’ve always worked in digital. hbz-chufy-00-index-1496863962
The oft-photographed Sofia Sanchez de Betak, known by her nickname and Insta handle Chufy, has been making other designers’ clothes look good for years. Now it’s her turn. The Argentinian model and girl about town just launched her own brand, Chufy. “I've had the dream for many years, I cannot believe it's happening! I always loved shopping or getting inspiration from my travels, either buying fabrics during trips and making my own clothes when back at home, or finding great artisans or tailors around the world and getting my custom clothes as souvenirs,” she explains. The Fashion Girl’s Guide To Rainy Day Footwear

rain-shoes

Because no-one likes people who wear wellies in the city…

The same thing happens every year: it gets to June, we have a few blazingly hot days and we pack away anything that’s not swimwear, straw bags or sandals.

Then, England remembers it's England, the skies open, we all get drenched walking to the tube and spend the day sitting bare foot at the desk with our shoes on the radiator, vowing not to step outside without a closed toe for the rest of the year.

Though it’s tempting to risk it on a semi-grey morning, nothing will ruin your new Bimba Y Lola rope sandals like a flash flood. So, instead, here’s what you should wear when your weather app says: rain…

Virgil Abloh Takes On a New Role As Desinger For IKEA

virgil04-2500x1667-1496865240
Fashion loves the high-low mix. Swedish furniture outlet Ikea's iconic royal blue “Frakta” bag has recently served as the accessorial inspiration for designers like Demna Gvasalia of Balenciaga, whose “Arena” bag coincidentally features a similar size and shape to Ikea’s. What you can buy at Ikea for 99 cents, you can buy at Balenciaga for $2,145. Recognizing its recent fad and marketable allure, Ikea called out Balenciaga for its copy-cat ways, but didn’t stop there. They have enlisted the creative vision of Off-White’s Virgil Abloh to collaborate on a new millennial-approved furniture collection. Abloh is also set to recreate the classic “Frakta” bag, adapting its original prototype into the more modern aesthetic of the off-white brand. Abloh joined Ikea at the Democratic...

Age ain't nothing but a number. Want proof? Acne Studios tapped '60s supermodel Veruschka von Lehndorff for its Resort 2018 lookbook, and the 78-year-old looks as fierce as ever. The German-born icon, who stands at an impressive 6'3", proved she's still got it, as she modeled vintage-inspired pieces in leather, denim, flannel, and suede in combinations she chose herself. "This is a collection of Acne Studios archetypes, iconic and real, so I wanted to work with an icon for the shoot," creative director, Jonny Johansson said in a release. "We asked Veruschka to choose her favorites from the collection, and it was amazing to have this supersonic woman work with such spontaneity." In a 2010 interview with the Daily Mail, von Lehndorff...

Playboy brought back seven former playmates, and asked them to recreate their iconic covers. The end result is proof that sexiness and sassiness is real at any age.
Check out Collins Jordan, who told Playboy she was “very, very lucky to be in such a unique sorority” as a Playmate.

And here's Renee Tenison, the magazine’s first African-American Playmate of the Year in 1990, and a real fox! “When I did Playboy, there was a little bit of controversy because I was the first African-American Playmate of the Year and some women were saying I was being objectified,” she told the...

New York Fashion Week Is Moving Its Primary Show Location—Again

hbz-nyfw-venue-index-1496933975

Since its departure from Bryant Park in 2010, New York Fashion Week has struggled to find a stable home.
Following a five-year stint at Lincoln Center, which ended in 2015, shows have been held at two primary locations: Skylight Clarkson Square and Skylight Moynihan Station—though many designers have opted to show at alternative venues instead. But according to WWD, more changes are coming, as New York Fashion Week is losing its primary show venue: Skylight Clarkson Square.

The move will cause the CFDA to re-assess the landscape of NYFW show venues moving forward, with the changes going into effect in 2018. "The official venue of New York Fashion Week is New York City. The Skylight properties will no longer...

Anatomy Of The Perfect Boiler Suit

B_Feature1
I can feel my grandmother turning in her grave at the idea that boiler suits are en Vogue. I can hear her preaching, “What ever happened to pretty little dresses?”. Well, grandmother, those days are gone, and modern women are chasing clothes that are comfortable enough to carry us through the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, and trends that disrupt the sacred masculine-feminine divide. Boiler suits are having a moment. Once a garment sported by mechanics and quirky art students, they now have the celebrity seal of approval, appearing in our favourite high street shops and social feeds. Are boiler suits just like jumpsuits? Yes, my friend, they are. Except, boiler suits tend to have a more industrial hit off them. Jumpsuits offer a softer, more playful silhouette....
