1 SANDY LIANG'S MARGOT TENENBAUM SLIDE Think of it as a do-over of high school with nicer clothes and a much better attitude. But don't think of wearing a pink clip (angled toward the arch of the eyebrow) with a monogrammed sweater or anything remotely preppy this time around—you're aiming for an uptown-downtown vibe. Side note: After all those years of natural texture, isn't it kind of weird to think how some of us used to do a daily...

1. Don’t be afraid to mix vibes. Who says you have to be just one kind of chick? If you’re a little bit sporty but also a little bit rockabilly, go ahead and pair a bomber with Western boots and a saddle bag! Just keep the palette limited if you...

Get Ready For Pink Pantsuit Nation

landscape-1487200587-hbz-pink-pantsuit-index2
While designers like Prabal Gurung and Jonathan Simkhai put out tees that spell out a feminist message—one on his runway, the other as a gift to the front row—other designers are taking on the movement in a more subtle way. An emerging trend is popping up melding two popular signifiers of modern feminism—pussy hat pink and the pantsuit. For their inaugural collection as creative directors of Oscar de la Renta, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia sent a glam, perfectly-tailored bubblegum pink evening suit down the runway complete with a silver sequin cummerbund. Adam Lippes revealed a wide whale corduroy suit that's ideal for day in a deep blush tone and Adam Selman revealed a slouchy rose-pink silk suit with high-waisted...

Trend Trio: Political Slogans In New York

output_vR6xNB
FROM statement-making soundtracks (Cushnie et Ochs had 'The Future Is Female' lyrics at their show) to Planned Parenthood buttons (Milly founder Michelle Smith, Adam Selman, Diane von Furstenberg and Anna Wintourhave all been spotted wearing them) New York Fashion Week is unusually politically-charged this season. What follows is an interesting examination of the potency of the fashion runway as medium for protest. How efficient will it be? Christian Siriano turned to Depeche Mode for guidance, printing 'People are People' on a T-shirt partnered with a silk pink skirt; Prabal Gurung, an a designer of Nepalese heritage sent out a finale of T-shirts printed variously with ‘Revolution has no borders’, ‘I am an immigrant’ and ‘I am a Rosa’. Then came Public...

Last season, Indonesian designer Anniesa Hasibuan made history by becoming the first-ever designer to present a New York Fashion Week collection with hijabs. Now, amidst a season where multiple brands have taken the opportunity to make political statements with their shows, the Muslim designer decided to respond to the anti-immigrant policies we currently face by casting her show entirely with immigrants and second-generation children of immigrants.

"For me, fashion is an open world. I don't want to discriminate," she told ELLE.com through a translator after her show last night. "The ability to express diversity in this business is a value that I hold on to. [Diversity] is what fashion is for me."

What does go through the mind of a model like Gigi Hadid before she walks in a huge show like Chanel, Versace or even her own Tommy Hilfiger line?
Hadid, currently one of the industry's most sought-after models, has revealed how she prepares for show season – both mentally and physically – in a new film for Reebok.
"Before I walk, I usually think of what the designer wants from me, whether that's an energy or getting into the music or calming myself down with breathing," she explains in the video. "I have to focus on what my job is that day."

The Laura Mercier Lightstruck Prismatic Glow Palette Is Coming Soon

laura-mercier-lightstruck-palette
In the spirit of all things unicorn and mermaid, holographic-themed products have been on the rise. And news of the Laura Mercier Lightstruck Prismatic Glow Palette has further reinforced our love for the this trend. The brand beloved by makeup artist, bloggers, and celebs has drawn inspiration from this optical lighting illusion to create one magnificent palette. At first glance, the 3D palette looks like something that should fall out of a shooting star. The array of galactic colors reflecting off of it is rather otherworldly. However, the true strobing magic lies inside. Within the palette you'll find five multi-dimensional crème highlighters, all based off of the way light reflects on different objects. The whimsical shades (which are perfectly named I...
