Amandla Stenberg Signs with Major Modelling Agency

1193587
Actor, activist and aspiring director Amandla Stenberg has just signed with The Society Management, the modelling agency that represents their best friend Willow Smith and fellow Dazed cover models Kendall Jenner, Molly Bair, Natalie Westling and Yasmin Wijnaldum. It’s the first modelling contract Stenberg has signed, but by no means the first time they’ve posed for the camera. As well as starring on the cover of the autumn 2015 issue of Dazed, they’ve featured on the cover of Teen Vogue, Interview and Elle, and appeared in the campaign for Stella McCartney’s new fragrance POP along with Grimes, Kenya Kinski-Jones and Lourdes Leon. Stenberg has come a long way since playing Rue in The Hunger Games, being hailed as “the voice of her generation” after their school project about cultural appropriation “Don’t Cash...

How to Wear the New Maximalism Without Sacrificing Your Personal Style

landscape-1477670506-landscape-1477062551-new-maximalism-cover

We're not just living life. We're living our best life. We're doing the most. We are–to throw in all the Internet speak–lit. And we're lit AF. In an age where the internet has us communicating in all caps, WTFs, and emojis all of the time, it's not surprising that our clothes have evolved to become just as hyperbolic. If fashion is language and in the world of ELLE, it certainly is–our means of speaking are becoming ever bigger and bolder by the day.

Gucci fall 2016
Gucci fall 2016
Yes, maximalism is having a renaissance thanks to Alessandro Michele's wildly popular, highly decorative, and immensely sellable vision at Gucci. But this is a shift that feels even bigger than that; a general...

102516-tulip-box-lead
Here's a solution that will let you skip a late-night run to your local drugstore after realizing you're out of toothpaste. Tulip, a brand-new oral care subscription service, lets you sign up to have all the dental essentials delivered to your doorstep every two months so that you'll never have to aimlessly wander the oral care aisle or wonder if it's time to replace that toothbrush. For only $12, each bi-monthly delivery includes a toothbrush, a full-size tube of Tulip's exclusive mint or coconut mint paste, and a packet of floss (which, yes, you should be using every day). Convenience is not the only goal of the handy service. In addition to taking the thought out of your oral hygiene routine,...

landscape-1477666417-diagonal-three-comp

Welcome to MarieClaire.com's new series on weekend travel—a smart girl's guide to making the most of those glorious two days off.
When it starts hitting apple picking season, city dwellers like me begin hanging up their beach daydreams for visions of hills, scenic drives, woodland hikes, and peaceful scenery. A retreat to the mountains and far away from city life is the perfect way to spend a weekend in the fall, and the ideal place to do so is the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. Below, my recommendations for how to make the most out of your weekend escape there.

Unique Jewellery By Sarah & Sebastian

ss-1-1140x641

Sarah & Sebastian is an Australian jewellery label that was launched back in 2011 by collaborators Sarah Gittoes and Robert Sebastian Grynkofki. Their modern, simplistic jewellery is all hand made to order in Australia, and features unique, minimal designs that are beautifully delicate and of top quality. Our personal favourites include their surreal face designs, made from solid gold and can be found across the range of their products – but to us, the long face earring (pictured below) really stands out as a piece you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. You can find the complete range of their products via the brand’s website or a selected collection over on Net-a-Porter. See our top picks below:

gallery-1477757688-elle-bette-midlerlead

Winifred is baaaaaaack!
Bette Midler paid homage to one of the greatest (and ~spookiest~) movies ever made, Hocus Pocus, at the 2016 Hulaween Party at The Waldorf Astoria on Friday. If this doesn't put you in the Halloween spirit, I don't know what will. BRB, off to watch Hocus Pocus on repeat until November 1st.

Cher Horowitz Would Approve of Fall’s Fun Mini Skirt Sets

skirt-suits-social
From left: Bella Hadid, Taylor Tomasi Hill, and Jourdan Dunn We spotted it on the runway last winter, and now the mini skirt-sets trend is finally here and ready to party. With versions out at every price point, in luxe fabrics and bold patterns that bring us back to Cher Horowitz and Dionne in Clueless, we couldn't be more excited to give the look a go. The trick to nailing this Fall 2016 trend is to make sure it's basically the opposite of the skirt suit you associate with boring '90s office wear. Think: a micro-mini hemline, loud colors and detailing, and jackets that go beyond your typical blazer. From bombers and peacoats to moto jackets, anything is fair game as long...

The Easiest Party Outfit on the Planet is Here

michelle-monaghan-style

Believe it or not, holiday party season is right around the corner, which means it's time to plan your party outfits. Friday and Saturday nights are about to get all booked up with office gatherings, festive dates, dinner parties, and other events involving copious amounts of alcohol and deliciously cheesy food. And, no matter how perfect it is, you can't possibly wear a velvet dress to all of these happenings. Luckily, Michelle Monaghanis here with the easiest party outfit on the planet—and possibly the chicest, too.

Didn't think you could pull off jeans at a holiday-season cocktail party? Think again! By adding a festive jacket and low-but-glamorous heels, Monaghan turned a pair of denim flares into...

How to Wear Off-the-Shoulder Tops During the Cold Months

off%20the%20shoulder%204
Micaela Erlanger calls the piece “very sexy.” Fellow celebrity stylist Anita Patrickson says it is “forgiving for any body type.” And while we completely agree, how is one supposed to wear the ubiquitous off-the-shoulder top (a.k.a. the shirt of the summer) now that the temperature has dropped? One look at the savvy street-style bunch at recent fashion shows is enough to show that the blouse is still trending—and not in a trying-too-hard kind of way. Cast in fall-friendly fabrics like handsome herringbone, plush velvet, and crisp poplin, the top is making a run at becoming your fashion staple for the cold months, too. There are also knit versions, courtesy of a feather-trimmed hoodie by Christopher Kane and a ribbed one-shoulder sweater...
