Our favorite hair, makeup and nail moments from the New York Spring 2016 runways, plus everything you need to know to recreate them.   ZAC POSEN The Look: Casual Black Tie How-To: Zac Posen is not one for big surprises. Drama, yes, and lots of it, but when it comes down to the silhouettes, the fabrics, the beauty, you pretty much know exactly what to expect. And season after season, it all still feels so right. This time, he asked hair and makeup to take the elements he loves—red lips, highlighted skin, low buns, ponytails and loose waves—and divide them among the models. "It's all about individuality," said Odile Gilbert, who "molded the hair according to personality and what was most flattering to each...

The Shadow That Makes Models Look Awake After The After-Party

The color's horrible for bridesmaid dresses but excellent for tired eyes. Behind the scenes of New York Fashion Week, I spent 20 minutes discussing the unflattering look of pastel yellow with a fellow reporter. As she swiped through the multiple options on her phone, we came to the conclusion that daffodil—whether you wear it short or long, strapless or one-shoulder—is a color that looks better in nature than it does when worn by bridesmaids. When it comes to your makeup, however, it's a whole different story. The pale yellow shade is clutch. Backstage at Vera Wang, makeup artist Lucia Pieroni reached for a rather optimistic hue: Clé de Peau's powder shadow single in Juggle, a sunny yellow. "It opens up the eye," Pieroni said of the shade, which will be available in February....

The singer's stylist showed his first collection at New York Fashion Week.    INSTAGRAM Last night, Lady Gaga put her head in the lion's mouth: She walked straight up to the photo pit at Brandon Maxwell's debut show and let them take her picture. But the singer had a good reason: Maxwell, her fashion collaborator, was launching his debut line and she wanted everything to be perfect. "Are you ready to see something beautiful?" she asked the assembled crew. "I know you need your shot here, but then, please enjoy the clothes." There was a lot to enjoy—sharply tailored cream trousers, black silk tuxedo blazers that revealed a satisfying shard of bare skin, and a bell-sleeved mini dress the color of dry rosé worn by Victoria's Secret newbie Taylor...

If you get your hair colored at the salon, you know there are two commonly used techniques that pros use to apply color: balayage (where the color is painted on with a brush) and foils (when the hair is covered with color and then wrapped in foil), but now there's a new technique to hit the scene called hand-pressed coloring. Redken colorist Chiala Marvici, the genius behind the color application, says she came up with the idea in her sleep. "I have a painting in my apartment that a friend did for me a while ago that has a lot of colors on it, and I fell asleep one night and dreamt of all these layers of paint living together on one surface," she says. "When I woke up, I thought about how beautiful that would...
